Hello again (thank you for reading my multiple comments)! May I ask if you have any advice on finding fully furnished lodging in the area that would give us 1-3 months to house hunt upon arrival? Thoughts on Furnished Finder? Thank you! :)

You mentioned in another of your videos there was (unfortunately) a lack of diversity in Dayton, but here mentioned it here as a city perk. Odd.

The other video was commenting in a particular suburb of Dayton. The city of Dayton is very diverse, I believe the video you are probably thinking about is on the city of Springboro, about 30 minutes south of the city of Dayton.

Dayton also has Sinclair Community College, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus, and the Victoria Theater, the Fraze and the Rose Music Center outdoor theaters, and the Wright State Nutter Center, all of which add to the rich performing arts culture of the area. Dayton is also home to the Dayton Dragons minor league baseball team.

This place ruined my career and my life. An SES changed the function of the department at the time I was hired to one I had no background in from analysis to audit readiness. Was hired as a 0510 series although the function of the job was a 0511. There were no established procedures, none of the procedures we were auditing were located on-site, and people wouldn’t answer your questions. It wasn’t so much auditing as it was technical writing, writing rambling several hundred page documents asserting the function was audit ready when it wasn’t. Even my own supervisor said the Air Force would never achieve audit readiness, but we were supposed to say we did. This place was proof that Cro-Magnons still exist. The staff acted like a bunch of high school kids, eavesdropping on phone calls and telling other people what they heard right in front of you, gooney looks of disapproval from people, and the culture was weird and cult-like. Because I didn’t pick up on the work and since I was gay, they bullied me and kept assigning me things that had nothing to do with accounting and that I didn’t have a background in such as computer technician duties. They also kept thwarting my attempts to find another job by providing bad references. In one instance where I found a different position within this agency after that supervisor didn’t call for a reference, they moved the duties of the old job to the new job, and those duties weren’t in my position description. I had tremendous difficulty finding another job outside this agency because of both the lack of work and the lack of relevant work. Listing this job on my resume still haunts me to this day.

This is what they've done to my neighborhood, and it's sad. 20 years ago there was a large farmhouse at the end of the street with lots of land, and an actual farm. My Nana and I used to walk there when I was a kid to see the two cows that I absolutely loved, but now it's a Ryan Homes (extremely low quality miniature mcmansions marketed as high end) subdevelopment.
@movingtodayton
@movingtodayton 4 ай бұрын
That's so hard. I'm sorry, unfortunately change is the one thing that we can't seem to change. Due to a housing shortage we are going to continue seeing new developments, but I agree with you and hope that includes affordable housing for everyone and not just McMansions.
