I first started visiting your store around the age of 18 (‘92-‘93). I haven’t lived in PA since 1997 (Austin,TX is home now). I’ve stopped by a few times over the years (I don’t travel very often) and Steph always recognizes me as a former local from years back after I say hello. I walked by today but unfortunately you were already closed. It’s Christmas Eve, 2024. It makes my rare visit back to Philly to see that the two of you are still keeping the best part of the past alive. Cheers and Merry Christmas!

My ex and me met Stephanie a few times back between 2010/2013-ish. We used to come in and spend a good hour or two, just chatting with her. Good days. I'd be surprised if she recognized either of us now but I'd definitely love to drop by the shop and find out some time lol.

We got to visit the store this past weekend. Although I look more like a soccer mom these days, your store took me right back to high school/college. And I was able to get a really cool dress. You guys were very welcoming, thank you!

Isn’t uhhhh isn’t zipperhead a racial slur?
@madface64422 жыл бұрын
uhhhh not always look at 0:49 it clearly shows the flyer of a caucasian man with a punk zipper opening up his forehead. like you can unzip his head. zipperhead. it's not targeted toward asians. same thing with 'spaz' being a slur in the uk but not in the US or fag being a cigarette in the UK while a slur in the US. different meanings.
@portalmaster22 жыл бұрын
@@madface6442 yeah but it uh originated from white people saying it towards Koreans so 🤷♂️
@madface64422 жыл бұрын
@Crazy L/P in this case it a phrase that was used for a piece of art where someone had a zipper on their head as clearly shown in the video. so should we never use the word dumb? its considered a slur by some. fat, hot, ethnic, urban, etc are all considered offensive slurs by others. should we stop using those words? consider how the swastika was originally a religious symbol for the sun, that is still used by many Hindus and Buddhists to this day; it became a hate symbol for the nazis during wwii. the american flag is a symbol of genocide for the Native Americans. i agree with you that we all should know and understand the legacy of the slur zipperhead, how it originated from wwii, and was used as a derogatory phrase toward Vietnamese, Koreans, Japanese, etc. if you're offended i understand. you have a right to speak out. im happy you did! what im saying is the old store's name is not a slur targeting Asians so 💁💁🏿💁🏾💁🏽💁🏻try to keep things in perspective.

Michelle Uberreste is a seller on Etsy and she has to be the biggest biatch I have ever communicated with. Terrible attitude and customer service. She sure has a chip on her shoulder and a sense of entitlement. Fix yourself hun you are a hot mess.

Two #psychictv shirts, lower left 01:04, must have been the 90s. I've shopped there. But I was just a part time punk back in the day. I always felt awkward around all those hard core punks behind the counter. Ha ha.

Hey Rob and Stef, I have been a frequent guest since Zipperhead circa 1984 when I was in grade school, then in my high school years. Moved to Queen Village in my early 20's and bought alot of my most treasured clothing. Now 44 and I still have such a place in my heart for the tradition the both of you carried on..When things get back to normal whenever that maybe I would love the chance to work for you guys even if it is only part-time. You guys are a South Street icon and should be so proud of the tradition you keep going.
