It’s midnight I’m celebrating my 21st birthday and this is the song that is playing. Life is hard. The only thing that will keep me going is art and my dog, it always will.

This is my story, and it won't take long My name is Joanna, and I have done wrong When I was a young girl, no more than thirteen Killed me a bad man for what he had seen Lives out on the west coast, down by Cools Bay My mamma went workin' every night and day The crookies were bloomin' for to welcome the sun Trailers ranged out along the old Highway 101 Now that you're at the shipyard, the iron works there They'd all fall the night cruise that sent them away And there's Donny Dakota, yeah, from just down a way Gettin' drunk on a Sunday, yeah, down by the bay Had a face like a dark cloud, and his voice like the storms With no work at all, boys, yeah, he just stayed home Yeah, he'd wandered the trailer park where I lay Banged on the wall just to scare all us kids One day I came out, and in the sunlight I stood Told him to fuck off, boy, like no one else would He took a fist full of my hair, and dragged me around To the back of the trailer, and held me down on the ground And as he pulled my dress up I could see the clouds overhead So airy and bright as it'd thought in my head Oh, the crookies were bloomin' for to welcome the sun Trailers lined up out on old Highway 101 That night as I lay in my bed, wide awake Lookin' out of my window, out over the bay Well I rose and I got my mamma's gun from her drawer She was sleepin' so soundly as I walked out the door Found Donny Dakota, from just down a way Asleep in the tall grass down by the bay The stars were all shinin' and, oh, so red Shot him three times in the back of the head

this album sounds like a little tom petty, with a dash of Springsteen, a touch of Dylan, mixed with their own American Goldwing album. ... or just an attempt to get on country radio...a more laid back version of their previous album.

this song leads into the next album... it's more straight country rock

This is epic drumming (and masterful recording) Brian. Tone, timbre, rhythm, flutter -- all frame the inviting solitude just right. Bravo!

Figured I’d reach out in the place a comment might stand out the most. Just wanted to take a moment and tell you guys thank you. Back in 2015 when I was just 12 years old I started listening to your music. It all started with black river killer and I just started listening album by album. Fast forward to today, I’m 19 going onto 20 and your music is still a regular part of my life. I hope all you guys are doing well, and can’t wait to hear what you’ve got goin in the future.

I am a man, of constant sorrow I've seen trou, ble all my day So I bid farewell, to you my old Kentucky The place where I, was born and raised (The place where he, was born and raised) For six long years, ohh I've been in trouble No pleasures here, on earth I found For in this world, yeah I'm bound to ramble I have no friends, to help me now (He has no friends, to help him now) So its fare thee well, to you my old true lover I never expect, to see you again For I'm bound, to ride that northern railroad Perhaps I'll die, upon this train (Perhaps he'll die, upon this train) And you can bury me, in some deep valley For many years, where I may lay And you may learn, ohh to love another While I am sleep, ing in my grave Maybe your friends, think that I'm just a stranger My face you'll nev, er see again But there is one, promise that is given I'll meet you on, gods golden shore (He'll meet you on, gods golden shore) Constant saw, row all my days (Constant saw, row all his days) Constant saw, row all my days (Constant saw, row all his days) Constant saw, row all my days (In Constant saw, row all his days) x4 Lyrics for this version
