I went on the Big Dipper in 1986-1989. It was very rickety ! Shame another Big Dipper type ride never replaced it. The scenic railway is just pretty tame by comparison

This ride was my jam back in the 70s at the Los Angeles County Fair. It was absolutely terrifying to be thrown straight down at the ground and you'd stop just a foot above the ground, face down, before soaring up into the sky again. Nothing exists with that ride action anymore - it was completely mental.

I've never heard of this ride before. It looks like a rust bucket.

In America we still have small traveling remnants during the summer. Sadly, we don’t believe they’ll return to my area bc last week dumb, ignorant kids were fighting. One brandished a gun killing an 18 yr old girl. Too sad. I don’t understand people anymore But great documentary. Loved it :)

I've noticed from KZbin footage that so many versions of The Hurricane these days the arms never go all the way up like they used to.

Got to ride this once at a county fair in the 70's. It tossed my sister and I around like two socks in a dryer. I remember being scared and not in a good way! This, along with the Toboggan and the Sky Diver were fun staples of the midway back in the day!

Great footage. I always remember as a kid looking at the turbo and zipper but not having the courage until I was a teenager. First time on the zipper was special. The Aussie songwriter Kim salmon even wrote a song about the zipper

I went to the Louisiana State Fair I think it was either 85 or 86. I was 8 years old and my mother forced me to get on and I didn't want to. I almost slid under the bars because I was small. I screamed and cried the entire ride.

Wish more of these older rides were restored and working again! There’s something very satisfying about restoration of an original.
