@@Sam_Green____4114 Hi Sam, this was my first visit back to the area after about 30 years away so it is a difficult call to make. The line has always been well supported by locals as the Bere Peninsula in particular is difficult to access by road. Patronage is less than the other branch lines in Cornwall such as Looe, Falmouth, St Ives and Newquay given that they are all major tourism destinations. The Tamar Valley has always been a hidden gem and was a favourite destination of mine when living in the area. Indeed, the Tamar Valley Line was the first railway that I travelled on as a child and is where my interest in railways began. Best Wishes, Stephen

Very enjoyable documentary! This railway line is a masterpiece. I am very grateful to the many workers who built it in the first instance and to the campaign group who saved it when threatened with closure. However I do feel very concerned nowadays about the future of this line. I started commuting on this late about 15 years, when living in Settle and working in West Yorkshire but since 2022 many commuters have stopped using this line...and it is not just because of the effect of the lockdown and new working from home arrangements. From talking to fellow passengers and other rural residents, the changes to the T&C of the Dales railcard have discouraged many people from using it in the morning. It's a real shame. I am often the only person waiting on the platform at Kirkby Stephen and on the first coach. Northern Rail are penalising commuters and the local rail user group doesn't seem to be as effective as it was? First train from Carlisle to Leeds should be full of people going to work, to college, going to hospital appointments in Bradford/Leeds but instead it's painfully empty. Well done for the documentary on Settle - beautiful place!

Side note, there was a station with the name Holt in Derby, where we are originally from, Rams Holt at Peartree, which was the station for the Baseball Ground, Derby County Football Club's ground. @@telemachus53 Glad you enjoyed the video. Looe was always a favourite destination of mine when I lived in Cornwall. Of the 15 return journeys that the train makes between Liskeard and Looe during weekdays only 2 journeys actually call at Coombe Junction Hall Station with no services calling on Sundays. This is because most services stop short of the station when negotiating the switch between the track coming from Liskeard and the track going to Looe, without the need to go as far as the platform itself. Originally, there were weekly trains going through the station at Coombe to the cement works at Moorswater. These services ceased in late 2020. So how did a Buffet Room that we see now appear? During filming it was found that the lights for filming set fire to the room's ceiling, hence the move to the sound studios in Denham. So the Carnforth Buffet was photographed and the pictures were used to build the set on the sound stage, this also was photographed.
