Gentlemen as a student of philology i have to inform you that this is in fact a very normal, albeit in this special case kinda wierd, thing in any spoken lamguage in the world. The so called performative properties of any language or rather its speakers are to change the literal meaning of any word. Thats why the first lesson in language studies is always to ask yourself. Why is e.g. a chair called a chair and not a table. Or why do we call green green and not nostril. It sounds absoloutlyey logical to go the historical route but in the end you must see. Its all a construct. We decided what thing is called what in centuries and millenias of tesing and trying and somewhen the noises from our mouth were the same. At least in a region. And this changes. All. The. Time. This is actually one of the privileges of the youth. To form the next set of language 'updates' even though not all updates outlive its generation.

@@ccmayhem7549 Its language studies, from greek phil ~ love and logia~ word. Most fellas study it as part of a language degree (and most of them at least here where i am from to be a teacher). In general it explores the fields of oral and written language in the matters of processing through the ages (as mentioned) and its structural phenomena (grammar 2.0 if you like), but literatur is a large part of it as well, as much as ideas of meaning (semantics) and so on and on. Its a quite fascinating field, as is communication at large. Imo its one of if not the most human making science. I hope that illustrates and answeres the question :)

Yes gentlemen what you are explaining is the process of becoming a well rounded Adult. Having empathy for others is a great show of character. Having children definitely makes you go thru changes emotionally, you not only didn't know that you had but ever knew you were capable of feeling that way. In my case I made a choice at a young age to put my life in the line of fire for my fellow Marine. So once I had my kids I already knew I'd kill for them right away. But as a father I learned I would not only kill for them but die for them as well. Semper Fi Gentlemen
