I’m currently changing the outboard seal on my hub. The leak was dripping onto the inner wheel assembly, and down the inner sidewall of the tire.

I changed it, drove it for probably 100 miles and it’s leaking again. 🤦🏼♂️ It was flush too when I installed it. Have you seen that happen? (Leaking after recently changing) I did not use the gasket seal/permatex like you did. Maybe I should’ve.

RE the body lift video, I noticed you are running Black Rhino wheels (or possibly Vision)? Were you rubbing without the body lift kit? Also what size tires? I really like those wheels but dont know what size to order.
@omyajt5 ай бұрын
@@lear60man hey, sorry for the slow response. I got my 20 inch black rhino wheels from Custom Offsets. The tires are Mickey Thompson 40’s. I have a slight rub at full lock when backing up. (Only when backing up.) I didn’t try it without the body lift. Just went ahead and installed it while I was waiting for the tires.

Great Video, however at 37 seconds you can see a part with a red nylon plug, that whole part may need to be bent slightly toward the driver side( or to the right when looking at it) for the lower rod to engage to open the tailgate. Over time it tends to bend to the left because of the cheap material its made out of. Its held on by 2 torx screws so can be done on a bench if needed.

Its easier to: 1) Take off the wheel. 2) Take off sway bar link (if applicable) 3) Remove upper shock pin 4) remove bottom ball joint 5) Remove spring 6) reinstall spring while measuring for proper gap on spring stop gap on LCA then just do 4 thru 1.

There is a major flaw with these year models. You can pop off the exterior lift gate handle trim and pop the trunk open by a switch on the left side of the handle mechanism. Access from the outside within 15 seconds

I am very surprised that all the hunting activist in vermont have not commented on this video! I am for trapping and hunting! Living off the land as much as possible!!! You made very good points in your video! The only thing I would like if it isn't law, is that trappers have to check their traps every other day! Not a week on week checking! I don't know what the law is these days. But no sense in leaving a animal in a trap alive for days! Or where other critters would come and eat the trapped amimul! Good video!!!!

I don't think I've ever seen this tie rod removal technique, I simply whack the mating surface area around the tapered tie rod end, the knuckle, and the shock pops the tie rod free. The same is true with the ball joints.

2:30 You don't need to cut the interior trim in order to get the liftgate open or the plastic panel off. There's a small circular access hole on the bottom of the interior plastic trim of the lift gate which allows you to use a screwdriver to manually open the liftgate. Once the lift gate is open you can lift it up and then easily remove the interior plastic trim panel without any cutting.

Nice, your HMMWV came with CTIS spindles? It must be a newer variant. I bought and installed CTIS spindles on my M998. All 4 would deflate no issues but when inflating 1 spindle seal leaks air into the the hub itself then continue to pressurize transfer case which then bubbles up out my transmission dipstick. Man I've taken this 1 hub apart multiple times to try to replace the seal but havent figured out a way to remove that old seal to replace with new. I am really struggling to get that done. I wish you made a video replacing that seal because the way you make your videos is very easy to follow.
@Drop-Kick-69 Жыл бұрын
I just finished replacing the CTIS seal and it was in TIGHT. So tight that i couldn't simply pry it out. I ended up carefully drilling into the seal (don't drill to far) then used a screw to pry it up. Hope this helps.

@@Drop-Kick-69 Good to know I wasn’t just being too soft on the seal. I was mainly concerned about damaging the steering arm cover. I guess it actually require some serious persuasion. I will try that next time I have a whole weekend off work. Thx for sharing.
