I'm puzzled as to why your 35mm film was so degraded. I have a 30 year old vhs with the original film on (re released by Apple on that format), and the quality is perfect.

It's a pity that the scene wasn't somehow edited to be able to be used. The 'lads' weren't really actors so I'm not surprised that they 'forgot' lines.... Their personalities were each unique, clever, and fun in their films...

It is nice that someone have enough time to spend on such job. But, with scratches or without them, those are The Beatles in full greatness. Scratches are absolutely meaningless and unimportant. It is just like listening their music from old scratched LP and from a million time filtered and remastered digital source. Scratches are a mark of that era, and I'm not bothered with them at all. Maybe it's just me, but...

3:30 It's weird that they base the invitations to the opening based on the final cut. This is completely idiotic, it would _never_ fly at, say, a software company or whatever. You worked on the project, you are a part of the team, period. The final cut is for the customers, not for the cast & crew. Incomprehensible. AFAICT film industry is full of sophomoric idiocies like this.
@Fool3SufferingFools2 жыл бұрын
If they sent invitations to actors who didn’t make the cut, they’d have to include notes that said “By the way, you’re not in it” to avoid serious embarrassment.
@JanPBtest2 жыл бұрын
@@Fool3SufferingFools What puzzles me to no end is that actors just assume (apparently) that they'll be in the finished product. This is super weird to me. I worked at many software places since 1991 and I _never_ assumed my code would be in the finished product. Why would I? The end result is a resultant of just _so many factors,_ technical, marketing, financial, and otherwise. Sometimes I get a feeling actors and that entire culture is really infantile. But maybe one needs to be so extra-sensitive in order to be a good actor, emotionally speaking? Some well-known film directors were quite annoyed by this aspect of their work (Luis Buñuel, Andrei Tarkovsky, Alfred Hitchcock come to mind, not to mention Robert Bresson who almost never worked with professional actors).

Wendy Richard went on to the classic British comedy "Are You Being Served?", ironically one of her co-stars Frank Thornton (Captain Peacock) had a roll in "A Hard Day's Night" as a cab driver and his part was left on the cutting room floor. The only member of "AYBS" that was in a Beatles movie was Alfie Bass. His bit part was a door man in the Indian restaurant in "Help!"
