Just a thought - Why run a fence when you could go round it? City stand and shout "Come on then" but also stand behind 2 lines of police and a fence. The Russians and the Poles just get it on, on the pitch or in a wood. It is easy to pretend to be hard when seperated.

For the Bristol City lads that came to greet us after the game at the away end, fair play for having a go. You took a walloping, but stood your ground and didn't run until plod got involved the break it up. Was a good away day in the pub before and after the games for the action.

+TheTS0 Used to be a proper few brawls on the East End. Leeds and Arsenal only ones who ever took it, but it used to be crazy up there. Heard stories of 12 year olds getting stanley knives in the face when we played West Ham back in the 80s.

@@samhill487can’t remember Leeds ever taking the East End but always had huge numbers in the Open end. Didn’t see Arsenal but heard about it as I missed that game. I clearly remember Tottenham taking the East End and very quickly, Ugly sods too, but to be fair to them, they only went for the Eastenders and left the kids like me (there to watch football ) be. There were a lot of City bad asses in the Park End that day, could have been the reason (or excuse). Much earlier (mid to late 60’s) I remember Oxford United taking the East end one day that most of the Eastenders didn’t bother turning up.
