Ohnepixel was wrong about achievements, he can definitely remove/delete achievements using SAM, but the badge exploit was something that existed back in like 2019 during a summer event where people found out that you could inspect the elements of Steam via a web browser and change around some lines of code to give yourself an event badge with millions of XP. I'm pretty sure TheSpifffingBrit did a video covering it as well. People who were doing it illegitimately had the badge reset, although some of them were smart about it and stayed underneath Valve's radar. The dude in this profile has 6,969 badges, and assuming each badge is level 5, that's over 3 million XP from just the game badges alone. That doesn't include crafting cheap seasonal event badges where each card is less than 0.05 cents and getting it to level 100 only costs around $50 USD. A millionaire like a lot of those people are will have seasonal badges that are level 1000+ that nets them hundreds of thousands of profile XP collectively. I've had my Steam account for 21 years now and level 342 on Steam and have never heard of people legitimately hacking badges for free. That's something that Valve would patch immediately because there's a huge market around people selling and trading cards to craft badges. Crafting game badges to level 5, it takes about $25 USD to level up twice at my current level. These people aren't cheating, they're just rich and/or dumb with their money.

You need cards that you can won by play games that you bougth, but you need a insane amount of cards to level up and this cards can be sold so it is easy just to buy them.

trade duplicate cards for ones you need for games you like and craft the badges. it's slow but costs you no money

My guess is people who don't play the game/ know about skins and how patterns work. I don't play myself, but i know how gems and everything exist, so the fact this pattern exists in someone's inventory is cool to me, I just know most likely that person will sell it at a high cost if anything
