I feel your pain! I use to purchase 3-4 cases a year, and I only broke a few blasters this year. Please, Topps, start with cutting correctly centered cards. Just start with that, then move on to understand you have ushered in junk wax era #2 all by yourself. Someone there has to care and know what is happening in the sports card hobby.

Look I'm going to start getting a petition going I'm going to write it out and I want 75,000 people who collect sports cards pass it around and I want it to be signed and tend to Topps in demand number one that the prices stay the same for 75 months, do not sell the breakers or charge them $65,000 before they can even get into buying boxes of cards so that they would be destroyed completely. Another thing don't give the breakers any more credit than they deserve. They totally wrecked my hobby. I want to go back to 2018 prices where everything was cheaper. A hobby box of even Chrome shouldn't be $15,000 a box it should be only $100 per hobby box and a jumbo would be 125 per jumbo box no matter what is in it. I would never charged $3,000 for five cards either. No matter what's in the case. I'm telling you if I was the president of the United States everything would be 99% cheaper

You’re right it’s getting tougher to open a box and find a star card that’s not scratched or scuffed or way off center. I watchers breakers and they’re opening packs and see a nobody auto and getting all happy for some dummy who paid $100 to get into the break along with the monthly fee to be able to get into the break. I tried it five times and got one decent card that’s graded a 9. Whoopi, I stopped that crap after loosing $570. Just got tired of getting a crappy team along with crappy players. Sure a few people got nice cards but only a few out of 30 people. Jumping into a break is nothing more than degenerate gambling. It’s the same for buying a hobby box or whatever. I actually think your chances are better to get good cards out of a hobby box or whatever than trying to get into a break and getting something good. I bought one box of chrome this year and got some decent cards, but they’re off center and scratched…from the factory. I purchased a lot less in 2024 because of the insane high prices. You’re looking good Brett. Now you need to get another dog and do some walking every day for cardio. I know it’s tough though, I lost my dog Gracie (named after Mark Grace) a year ago and just can’t come to terms of the thought of replacing her. I’m close though. Also, grading prices gave gone up considerably and unless you land a GEM MINT 10, you're out money. PSA 9's are the same price if not cheaper than raw right now. How is that even possible?

Thanks for putting this out. From one true collector to another, I agree with you on everything as I'm on the same boat! I've always loved to rip but now very selective with what I buy. Prices increased while print runs greatly increased. Makes no sense. New collectors don't know any better, that's the advantage we have going for us! Something has got to change!

Buy singles, that is the best way to go. Opening packs was a bad idea at prices five years ago - now it is insane.

I have been collecting nonstop since 1987. It’s no longer fun. Product I’m opening almost feels like I’m doing it out of habit and not enjoyment. Even the occasional good card I might hit isn’t exciting because the cost to open is straight stupid. So I have a few things I preordered in 2024 then I’m done.

Take care of yourself and the rest will follow. Good on you. It's not fun anymore opening a lot of these products. You'd think as a Brewers fan I'd open as much as I could to chase Chourio, but the PC I've built up now from just buying his singles instead feels so much better.

I bought 1 jumbo of 25. Only because it was at actual retail. I refuse to pay resellers upcharge. 5 megas of chrome update at $50. If I can't get it at SRP I don't buy it. I can't afford everything, learned to not try.

Ill be cutting right back this year. Perhaps if enough people do, prices might become realistic

The amount of breakers is insane. Every time I see IF sports cards top 10 it’s some breaker I’ve never heard of. I don’t blame you though not opening more, you are 100% right. It just zaps the fun.

Topps cut out the wholesale distribution to almost nothing. I used to buy up to 100 cases of each of the 2 flagship releases. I can't get any hobby...zero. and retail is just about out too. Topps wants it all. They want full retail prices on everything they sell. No more 3 tier distribution.

People buying into breaks are bad at math.

Fanatics knew what they were doing. They wanted to hear the hobby towards breaking. That’s where all the money is now. It’s cheaper to get into breaks and chase the players you want than it is to buy products and rip it yourself and end up getting a bunch of crap you don’t want. It’s sad. I like getting into breaks and ripping. They need to figure out a win win. But they won’t because the greed is to strong.

Love your channel brother as a fellow IL collector. I’m too cutting down on purchases. Prices are bad and the quality as well. Rip what you love, that is how it’s done. I’ve done 4 “EQL” drops, no luck either. Feels like it’s just another way to keep product out of “regular guys” hands and push it to breakers. No way I’m paying a $1000 markup on the secondary market to rip a case of Bowman’s Best. Maybe Topps thinks that if they keep the premium products away from us we’ll be forced into buying the junk like Series 1 if we want to feed that need to rip product. Just feels dirty.

Appreciate the honestly. I tried EQL for WWE. It said there were issues with my card(s) each time I tried. I know for a fact there is nothing with my card. They aren’t maxed out or anything close to it. It worked afterwards no issues. Stupid

I like to rip and keep some sealed as well but with these prices it just doesnt justify ripping anymore. 500 for bowmans best is insane, as for 25 series 1 Ill probably stick to singles and maybe grab a few hanger boxes or so but definitely cutting back. Panini is just as bad or even worse unfortunately.
