You see how hard that mk5 pulled and how long it took for the is20 to catch up ? That mk5 would have won hands down if that gli didn’t have the is20. My FBO and tune gti made 292whp on a custom tune and in these light ass cars that’s not by any means slow whatsoever, I added a k04 and I made 355whp and I was beating literally everything from 200whp cars up to 500whp. It’s perspective on what you think is fast or not I guess

@@Mazdaspeed_lifestyle See I know that's fast for the weight but the powerband can't compete with a is38. I'm thinking of this relative to the mk7. If the mk7 can barely keep up with a stock gen 3 10 speed it's got me questioning whether or not I should even cknsider buying a mk5 for a k04 swap. They're dirt cheap and I'd probably wmi it but idk. Tell me which v8s you beat and there mods and you might convince me on it because I really love the mk5

@@EastDallasKicks it takes alot of work to make a mk5 that fast tho, and 80% of them are dogged tf out now and junk. So you have to be fully committed and ready to do literally absolutely anything to get it running right and get to that power. Or just buy a mk6 or 7, I raced my ms3 when it was just FBO and custom tune against my old mk5 that was “stage 1+” and it was a very close race but didn’t have the top end to match my speed. NOW my speed is 670whp and a entirely different monster 😂😂

This is a live example of the torque spike problem that you get from swapping a k04 to a 1.8t. While the k04 does spool faster it doesn’t not provide the same airflow across the power band and gives better torque at low end. You can actually make more horse power at higher RPMs with the stock Ko3S but not as much torque. And this is a real world example of this. The k04 1.8t provided more torque for the hit, but the ko3 1.8t was able to pull harder once they were rolling. This is why you should save your money and do a t3/t4 hybrid conversion, your engine will also last longer than a k04 swap.

Hi to that hybrid conversion, you mean what would be a K03S? I ask you because I have an A4 B5 quattro which I did full turbo maintenance (original, K03) and the person who did the work offered me that solution, to make 2 turbos something hybrid or K03 (or maybe I misunderstood)

@@diegomoraga7619 a “hybrid” turbo usually is referring to a T3 turbine mated to a T4 compressor. It’s not VW specific. There are VW specific “hybrid” turbos, but those are usually referred to as “Frankensteins” like the F21

@@diegomoraga7619 Ko3”s” is what came in the Audi TT 225hp. To be honest I don’t know what is different when compared to the standard 150-180hp ko3. From what I know about VW turbos, the compressor wheel is probably different, the body of the turbo is the same for either, so that means something internal is different.

A stock e46 330 is quicker than an mkV R32. The Golf likely running remap and uprated exhaust and the e46 is stock.
