Super cool. As more new into the Gundam and a life of modeling this was great.

Turn A looks so ugly from a design and story telling perspective. So many dumb lines and shapes that mean nothing. Just look at where the pilot sits, unarmored on the front on a WAR machine.

I never like turn a Gundam design but I Syd try his best
@traphimawari7760 Жыл бұрын
Its not the best but its the most unique and for that it gets the best in its own right, also theres been a much recent resurgence of Turn A designs being revived or added like the vodom pod from build divers re rise and that kit was one of the coolest build divers kits despite it not being based on an existing kit, also gundam seed astray delta is inspired from syd mead and they look rad af, especially the mars faction in cosmic era which were all based on turn A designs

If you look at his early sketches he did draw it like a normal gundam would look but at the end of the day, it was Tomino's decision on what it would look like.

*"For the canned Bandai Entertainment released"* Hold, a f*cking minute.... Your telling me that Bandai at some point planned a US release of Turn A Gundam !? How and why was this released cancelled ? We could've gotten a english dub 😢...

I think it's because of After War X's failure.

@@-mcpie-6802 I don’t know way After War Gundam X failed either. It’s a great show, it’s a shame it was cancelled earlier, and had a truncated end.

Same, is one of the better designed too, function wise makes a lot of sense in the universe, poor mustache mech gets hate for only that

Turn A designs are pretty good, imagine if it was animated in todays animation, it would look even cooler, like the flats and vodom pods, heck the vodom from gundam build divers re rise was so freaking cool despite there not being a vodom pod kit that it was based on, like imagine if we actually got a turn A line for most of its designs, like the Mahiroo, Sumo, vodom, and flats

Turn A was utterly unique among the similar looking Gundam suits, and I still think the design hasn't changed that much even with outrageous ones like Xi, which is essentially gundam with a lot of bulk. I do want to see a more unique design like Turn A but I understand Bandai wanting to not alienate both old and new fans.

The Aerial does look pretty weird compared to the UC gundams. The closest thing is the G-Self

This was a really interesting interview, and we are lucky that he sat down to do such an extensive recorded chat shortly before he passed away. I would (very selfishly) have wanted to hear even more about his thoughts regarding the Gundam design ethos up until that point and if he realized what a radical break what he did with the Turn A was with every main design that had been done up until that point, and what he thought of the audience reception to it (to my understanding, it was initially negatively received but has grown in popularity since then).

Looked up what an omni mag was and am now grateful for mentioning them. When I was a kid my grandma had some older books still and a few of them had these awesome futursigic futuristic, futurisgic settlements, futuristic vintage diver, or vintage diver drawings I will NEVER forget or stop missing. Would you be so kind as to drop any more artists/mags/books/blogs/styles/resources?

Maybe it's a fortunate blessing, perhaps in a way all of us can relate, resent, relay and remember, to simply have a patient father, one from whom we can learn the lesson that we have it within ourselves to create our greatest teacher; up, down, through the ages. Or, perhaps it is simply as you said; the good nephews report the betters of our natures.
