I watched this the other day. Pretty well recap of the whole experience. So much happens when you're just having the best times on the saddle, on the run and on the swim with the best company and getting the vheat code to all the best coffee shop stops and more pasta than mama allows 😆

This video got recommended to me in my feed (good to see the new KZbin algo at work) Enjoyed watching your video. One piece of feedback from a random stranger’s POV: I actually preferred your Notion “one paragraph” opening statement. “Endurance competition being a vehicle for personal development” It gets to the heart of a broader problem that folks are trying to solve for themselves: personal development. Personal development is a struggle for nearly every human on earth. It seems your endurance training journey improved your own personal development in various aspects of life along the process. Self-confidence Collaboration Resilience Overcoming obstacles Etc. Etc. Then you can structure the stories in the book with what area of personal development they helped improve. Just food for thought. Good luck man and subscribed so I can see the journey 🫡

And I would put your background as Chapter 2 if you need to share your “why” of your thought process. Share the craziest story upfront, no background is needed. Your actions and reactions in those moments will show the value of the endurance training in real-time. Then you share background on how you got to this moment and why you sought this out… lol I’m typing this as I watch the video in real-time. So it may not make as much sense as I think it does. ✌️

My cadence is pretty high, but I think I focused too much on turning my feet over and not enough on pushing power out the back. I focused on that today with a vo2 max segment at the end of my long run and was able to go much more quickly than normal and felt a ton of engagement, particularly in my hamstrings. I noticed that my feet kicked up higher behind me naturally as well, which is something I've seen in other very fast runners but have never been able to accomplish. Thanks for posting this video. You might've just helped me unlock a lot of hidden speed!

Nice job on improving your cadence. My only hesitation is looking at my stride analysis I am at low 160's when going at 9 minutes/mile pace, but closer to ideal (180) in the low 170's when running at 6 minutes/mile pace. At 6'1" and my head not bouncing much at all, I didn't think I have an issue. Feel free to share any thoughts on my situation. I too have had a lot of recent hip soreness, so maybe something could be off in my form, shoes, or intensity.
@theryandreyer
@theryandreyer 3 ай бұрын
I would focus on power coming out the back. It's easy to increase your cadence when you are running faster. But we want that easy 9 min pacing up from 160. More forward knee drive and less power out the back should help
