No, I had a massive heart attack and decided it wasn't a good idea to keep after that goal.

Gracias :))

I tore each achilles, full tears with surgical repair, five and seven years ago (one has a permanent metal wire suture inside it), and still have a few spots that "don't quite feel right", like things are being held back a little. How well does the Graston technique work on older injuries like mine?
@audainenergy11 жыл бұрын
Once you learned the ''trick''! ie: Tarsal Tunnel's sneaky culprit that locks the '' t d h a v '' up you've solved that part of the ''body's ( foot to knee ) trap''. Nothing else matters guys! Muscle spindles, gogli tendon organs fire up ''correct'' spinal arc reflexes then scar tissue will simply break allowing ankle, tarsals, tibia-fibula to fire up knee to move anatomically correctly. Scar tissue behaves like ligaments don't let them fool you. etc..............

I actually think I tore half of my calf muscle while surfing today - the wave dropped out over a bar, and so did my board, and my body, causing, I suspect, my foot to slide to the edge of the rail, and my foot to suddenly bend upwards. :( The calf muscle actually popped, kind of like an overstretched rubber band which is let go, and it is probably some of the most excruciating pain I have ever felt. I'm actually worried that a scan is going to show muscle fibres ripped in half. ;)

Im thinking that Active Tissue Release (or STR) would work just effectively over the calf area? It would also be possible to feel, pinpoint and stretch out the tightest areas of the calf.

I think this lady's brain is working as slow as she talks...just because you're using some stainless steel tool doesn't doesn't take away from the fact that this is GUA SHA which is chinese medicine, NOT 'Graston'...have some respect for other peoples work and come up with your own ideas you just look stupid and unprofessional and that has nothing to do with you being american...do your research before you try looking smart don't go taking credit for others hard work...one word for u - pathetic

To become a Physical Therapist it requires a PhD, passing national boards, and state licensure (600 technical questions) i.e. as much schooling and credentialing as a doctor. It is ONE technique out of many techniques that can be used to help someone heal from injury. Medicare and insurances pay for it because it works. Now go back to your $10 an hour job and she can go back to her $35 an hour job.

Save yourself some time and money and find a good Massage Therapist. What's wrong with using your hands, at least you can feel what your doing/treating. How can you patent that? what a con! you could be just as effective with a toothbrush handle, or a rock. What a joke!

Oh and the chinese have NEVER done that. They've built their economy on this principal. I'm sure it was copied, but every culture does it, not just the typical Americans. Can't believe you would make a comment like that and get 15 thumbs up. I hope you all aren't living here.

I use the Graston technique with great results. I have to admit; I too thought the technique and tools were over stated. I have seen amazing results with most repetative stress injuries.. Bottom line, patients get better with out drugs or surgery.
@jacquedaw12 жыл бұрын
I agree with cradleinthecrater this is not an innovative new technique this is someone trying to cash in and patent a technique that is well know in Chinese medicine and which is ancient. You can use any flat object with a rounded edge and it wont cost you a fortune.. Google Gua Sha, you can buy the tools cheap on ebay

You can use " The Stick " also to massage the calf muscle area down to above the tendon.It is the same principle attempting to get blood flow to the sore area.Most running stores have " The Stick ".
