Haha Have been, actually been super active over the past year in that regard. Working on the next big project off and on, but been apart of like 8 MEP projects. I'll be uploading an update soon featuring all of that though. 🙏

Really glad to hear the atmosphere translated as well, was trying to capture that haunting emotional feeling with the sound mixing, too!

You know, I don't wanna get all sappy on your videos, but damn do you have talent, Ian. The way you edit in my opinion, is very fresh compared to what we usually see in the community, yet feels so familiar and warm to look at. I love how you evoke emotion with your storytelling. I think this was a perfect song choice for your idea, so simple, raw, and thought provoking. Your work with sound is impressive, it builds the atmosphere and immerses you. There are some technical mistakes here and there, but considering you rushed the life out of this, I'd be very proud to produce something like this. Thing is, those mistakes don't take away from experience nonetheless, just because how polished the atmosphere and the feeling you wanted to portray was. I think you're on your first big steps to becoming not a good amv editor, but a great media editor in general. I will come back to this video many times more, just to feel a spectrum of emotion that this video adds to Vinland. Can't wait to see how you evolve further, love your ideas and execution. I'm glad that translated, I did question if I should pull away more at certain points, but I thought it helped keep that uncomfortable feeling all the way through. And I know :/, I was really pushing to get it done, but the concept was a bit too big for my limited time during the IC. Glad I got to spend more time fleshing it out though and really polishing the concept! Really happy with the result, and the inspiration it's been hitting me with hopefully means more uploads in the near future! 🙏❤

I think you not only pulled off an insane edit of a barely used footage, but also made rather original concept and works insanely well with the song and merges into this one story, that is haunting yet you can't stop watching. Yeah, that haunting and unsettling feeling, is exactly what I was trying to capture with using Perfect Blue! The minute I heard the song, I knew it would fit perfectly with the film! So glad to hear it translated, and that you loved it! There's definitely a bunch of interpretations you could take away from certain elements of it, it's been really cool seeing what other people grasp onto and find meaning in. I've had a ton of newfound inspiration this year, so it's really encouraging to hear this has been resonating with a lot of people! ❤
