My problem is I locked my truck in 4 low drove approximately 20 feet shut it off. Got back in drove 20 more feet and now it refuses to come out of 4 low! I know how to shift it out by having it in Neutral so that's not the issue.

I have a question not pertaining to the carb. I dont think. Its about the belt light. Do you know anthing about the belt light and the system that detects a bad belt? I have an 03 that the belt is toast, but I do have one coming, the light is flashing steady. I've checked the switch in the clutch cover. It's in the on position. I did the reset for limp mode but it doesn't seem to do like the videos I've seen. It does rev up, but the light is still flashing. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Alright, I went and got mine today. It pulls a vacuum just fine, but it doesn't hold. Put it under an actual pressure test and found 3 small leaks. Got them fixed (just loose hose clamps and a broken fitting). I put it under another pressure test, and it held for over 10 min and the pressure never dropped. So I thought I was good. Hooked everything back up and started pulling another vacuum, but it still won't hold. Now, idk what the problem is.

@@TJsVette you have seals in the water pump that are designed to maintain pressure being the coolant system is pressurized. But don’t hold up as well under vacuum. Thanks to both your carb and valve video's my 360 is running again!!! I believe the main problem was the fuel adjuster screw once had a very small o-ring that was completely dissolved. It had the hole to the carb throat partially clogged. I dug out the few remaining pieces of rubber, made sure it was perfectly clean and ordered a new fuel needle screw just to get that o-ring. I suspect it may be from ethanol that they put in gas that ate it up. After all it is a 2004 model. Thanks for your great advice!!!

Been chasing an issue with my prairie 360 its a 2005. Sometimes it starts sometimes and now more often then not, it will not just cranks away. I have done everything but the valves. I did the valves - well checked them and adjusted one two years ago. I am going nuts do you think it could be a valve issue with a no start situation. I have new plug, new carb (also rebuilt the other one and took it apart like 3 times before that) Its def getting fuel, i also checked the fuel switch that was replaced a while back also, its def getting fuel and def is getting spark. Nothing is blocking the air ducts. Its got all 3 main components for combustion but will not even chug just cranks and cranks. I am going crazy had it apart so many times lol.

Haha been there my man. So a few things to check. The one thing I like to do is spray a little starting fluid in her. Just to see if it'll fire. Thatll at least tell you that she's able to run. Did you put a ebay special carb on it or a factory one?

@jonbennett118 ok so ya the amazon carbs look basically exactly the same... but I've had trouble with them working well, but it should still at least start with it. Ok well let's go over some basics. For spark you put a new plug in, did you check for spark while turning it over? And when the plug was in the engine....when you removed it, was it wet?
@jonbennett118
@jonbennett118 2 ай бұрын
@@Simpsons.R.S Yes plug has good spark held against engine when cranking. The plug was wet but dark and smelled of gas. The Carbs had fuel in them when i took back out. Recently the amazon carb came with a fuel filter so i can see that gas is getting to the carb. (Thanks for the help).

@jonbennett118 no worries. Ok so if it's really dark she's running rich. Could be a little to much fuel. But checking the valves both intake and exhaust is key as well. Making sure compression is there. Have you done a compression test on it by chance?

@Simpsons.R.S
@Simpsons.R.S 2 ай бұрын
@Wyatt-jy8sg the carbs have a rubber line on the bottom for the over flow. It's a safety feature you could say. So if the float sticks... it'll leak the gas through there and not into the engine. It just runs down beside/below the engine, so it leaks in the ground. Not on the engine.
@King_w0092
@King_w0092 2 ай бұрын
@ is there any way to fix that because it has been leaking gas almost constantly
@Simpsons.R.S
@Simpsons.R.S 2 ай бұрын
@Wyatt-jy8sg yes you can give this a shot. Take the carb apart. Pull the floats out, and the float needle. Clean it really well and put it back in. If it still leaks you can try to adjust the float and see if it stops leaks. But adjusting it can cause other issues. I'd recommend just buying a new needle and seat if cleaning it doesn't fix the issue.

What cheaper oil can I use besides Polaris special golden shower oil? I know for the front hubs I can use Type F trans fluid. (But for the amount you use to refill those hubs one quart will last for 30 oil changes.) I can use 10w 30 for the balancer shaft. But what can I use for the transmission? I want to use gear oil but I'm not sure? I have the 2 stroke 400 sportsman so for premix or the oil bottle full synthetic is good for clean and low smoke. I use marine 2 stroke. Caster or conventional oil is good for lawn mowers.
