A thoroughly enjoyable video!! I loved it!! By the way, I hope everyone noticed that I didn’t have to include any infantile negative comments about today’s vehicles.

Drop the bombastic music and use the original commentary. The music is telling me nothing about the rally and participants etc. etc.

What an excellent result in a standard 120 LS. All praise to Skoda and Haugland. A cracking little film too.

Cracking video. I had one of those BL red, white and blue helmet logos as a sticker in my bedroom after Tony Pond had been to the Manx. Happy Days.

Excellent footage. Only spoilt by Murray Walker's unfortunate inclusion.

Andy Dawson and Tony Fawkes, both accumplished drivers and engineers, both missed out on the manufacturers trophy as team managers, on the very last event of the relevant seasons.

My favorite Era of World Rally. The shots of the 124 Fiat Abarth Rally Spider and the Fiat 131 Rally cars always put a smile on my face. I have a 124 Spider Rally car and drive it whenever I can...those cars from that time were the best, and set the stage for what it is today. Nothing sounds better than a Fiat Lampredi twin cam engine with a set of twin Weber 44 Idfs echoing through the countryside...Bravo video!

What the Finnish rally superpower can be attributed to is called “Sisu” You need to be Finnish to understand it! Closest English translation would be “balls” but it’s more than just that

According to Mick Jones, after Ken Browns back axle was repaired the dealer had a mishap when trying to deliver the Capri back to Ken and so the damaged car was sent to the works competition department at Boreham for further repairs, when Boreham tried to deliver the car they too had a mishap and eventually it was decided to rewards Ken’s loyalty to the brand with a spanking new car.

This is awesome. I was in New South Wales in 1979. And I saw this on tv. Thanks for the memories. Was this part of the World Rally Championship? I have played WRC 5 and 7,8. and the Land Down Under is tough. Much respect for these working class guys. Who have a love of sports car racing.
