I just did my second yoga class. I liked it despite being the only old guy in a room of women. I just need core strength and flexibility/mobility work through active stretching/strength poses. I do like the breathing and mindfulness as it relaxes my muscles up and reduces stress. At the end of the class the teacher stopped me and asked how it went. She had been talking to another woman. They were both kind but I mentioned why I was doing this and got from both of these women that yoga is not for flexibility it for opening up your mind, but you may happen get more flexibility. It was off putting, it was clear my exercise goals didn’t jive with their ideal of yoga. The other woman said she did this for mental health, which is great, but I don’t understand why what I said ruffled their feathers. At the end, there was 15 min of relaxing on the mat while she played “singing bowls” which was rather uncomfortable in the studio’s acoustics. All that energy, gratitude, and spiritual stuff is not my jam. I would have much more enjoyed 15 min of meditation. I just bought a yoga mat and will do my “stretching” exercises at home. Lots of great KZbin content. A lot of the men content creators have great content without all spirituality.

Don't know about building muscle, but definitely very fun, me and a few friends had them when we were kids around 2007 I think and used to compete for highest spin records and stuff, good times Anyways, you will develop grip and arm strength in general doing that (going for max) but there's probably more efficient ways. Also there's metal powerballs that will put up like 30kg resistance

I am 38 and I’ve had arthritis like pain in both of my wrist since I was 35. I used to do weights but due to my wrist I stopped. I tried this and it really made a difference in flexibility and pain management. I also wake up with stiff hands and I did this before going to bed and woke up with very less stiffness. Thank you!

Well in 2018/2024 whatever year you consider being toxic by considering the religious aspect as superior is actually dumb hahaha, even kids are starting to realize how religion is a human construct these days thanks to education and technology, there are just too many contradictory aspects in religions to believe them, well we are not all smart in this world I get it, but it doesn’t require a 130IQ to understand it.

In the first exercise after the warm up I'm to inflexible to put my foot on my knee. Should I then put it lower than my knee? I tried that. I can do it but I'm not sitting straight. Any suggestions? Thx. Great video by the way.
