It doesn’t literally say sponcer in the big book but it implies it with “prospect” or “working with a new man” also the oxfords groups used it and aa adopted the word sponcer or responsible for a person if they brought them to an oxford group meeting in case they got out of hand it was your duty the sponcer to handle them and care for them.

One of the issues of including a trained professional is mandated reporting. If you want to maintain the level of honesty that appears to be present in these types of groups, the honesty may be diminished.
