i was there that night. they did 3 hours. a brilliant show. interesting to hear your views on jon's vocals. this was at the backend of their golden decade. from 2000 up to 2011 they recorded and toured relentlessly. possibly why richie decideed to quit. two live performances i can recommend. it's hard letting you go at the O2arena in 2010 and sheffield city hall in 1986, silent night and the boys are back in town. all on youtube.

OK, Guthrie is human, it's just that he's from a planet where they're born with plectrums in each hand

Guitar World Magazine had him rated Greatest Overall Guitarist which put a smile on my face bc he's hardly ever mentioned when they rate the Virtuosos and that's unacceptable Steve Morse is definitely top shelf Guitarist "Cruise Missile" is a Classic track can't ignore his Brilliance

There are many good guitar players in Indonesia but one of them is the king of acoustic guitar, all the songs are enough to learn, just listen to the original music, he is very famous in Indonesia because of his skills in playing acoustic guitar

Guitar is a Jimi Hendrix Monterey Strat. Big influence on him as you can tell from some of his covers

Even if I trained all the hours god sends to be that good I could'nt because Guthries fingers are so effing long! He can reach the notes that the rest cannot reach. Same reason I could never be as good as Rick Wakeman or Jordan Rudess. Long effing Fingers!!

Im a big Keith Richards fan, so I actually really enjoy Johnnys style. His cover of Isolation with Beck is well done in my opinion. R.i.p Beck too. I honestly feel sad for Johnny that Beck died, because Johnny alwaus wanted to be a musician, but just happened to be a better actor than musician, so he made the arguably right choice and embraced acting at the expense of music. Made his money over the years. Went through that nasty divorce with Amber, finally decided he was more than rich enough and teamed up with Beck to start performing, but then a few years in, beck dies. 😢 Its so friggin unfortunate all around, Beck and Depp were really starting to grow on me honestly.

Not sure this is new breed I heard and bought this album 20 years ago...Guthrie is a gift to the world! The jazzy trio is the Aristocrats, possibly the best musical trio I've ever seen and still touring now. Check out his stuff with Hans Zimmerman too. He was a music teacher and wrote for the guitarist for years.

'He's not big over here'...... JM filled the o2 twice over and the tickets went like nobody's business. He has a massive following here and pretty much everywhere else. You'll be saying you've not heard of Dave Matthews next. Both are incredibly talented and have amazing musicians supporting them. They are both musician's musicians. They are incredibly articulate on guitar and vocally and deserve the respect that they get.

Oh you gotta listen to a song Jon wrote for the movie Young Guns2 called Blaze Of Glory. Since it was a solo venture and didn’t involve the band, Jeff Beck was on guitar, and I gotta tell ya, it’s EPIC! The only way you can listen to is by listening to the official track or the official video. Jon performs it with his band, but it pales in comparison. RIP, Jeff. You made magic. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5fQinaDaaiGbtEsi=z8E6su1b5IpmDG8P
