@@trfesok I’m not sure but I think the sheet music is from Music notes, version of Darlene Zsech.

Yes, Darlene is the songwriter, but the name of the arranger should be on the shert music, too. Is it Jack Schrader?

Doesn't the Second Vatican Council specify that the people should know the Ordinary parts of the Mass (like the Gloria) in Latin and that Gregorian chant should have pride of place. This (not very inspiring) setting seems opposed to both the letter and the spirit of Vatican II.
@MayIG4 ай бұрын
Yes we also do sing the Latin Gloria but very very occasionally. For our regular masses we tend to choose these more modern settings in English to make the Mass accessible because not everyone understands or speaks Latin.
@cdm10033 ай бұрын
@@MayIG Thank you for confirming that you reject both the letter and spirit of Vatican II. It's sad that this bland muzak is regarded as suitable for the worship of God, and goes entirely against what was called for by Vatican II.

When I first practiced this tenor yesterday, I thought I sang it correctly. But then I realized I was singing in one octave lower which made me feel I was singing like a bass voice. That is not what expected from a tenor voice. So today I am practicing in the right octave like displayed in this video. The only note I struggle to reach effortlessly is the highest one : high Fa. I am trying to hit that note. I manage to do that, but not really smoothly. I feel I have to do some jogging in the morning and swimming in the afternoon. In the past, I found this sport exercise/drill help me in reaching high notes and hold them long. Jogging is about endurance, while swimming is about manage breathing which I think relevant to singing.
@MayIG4 ай бұрын
Hi! Oh no, I only saw your comment now! Actually, you should be singing it an octave below. I made this video years ago, long before I started recording in tenor & attempting to record bass voices (very badly) for my SATB videos. As I am naturally a soprano, this was only how I could sing it comfortably - in the soprano range. Also when I used to teach tenor and bass lines to the male members of my mass choir before, if I sang at the correct pitch for tenor, they would then sing an octave lower which wasn't correct. I hope that your practice is better for the coming Christmas season and I hope that I haven't confused you too much!
@lexsoft3969 Жыл бұрын
I think this is in accordance with the version showing notes notation I have seen in other channel. I will be singing the tenor on Christmas day. I can learn from this one. Thank you.
@MayIG4 ай бұрын
Yes this is the tenor line but I had to sing an octave higher because I am a Soprano. This was for my mass choir to learn years ago in preparation for rehearsals.

Christ is our king / lyrics Chr. Christ is our King, let the whole world rejoice! May all the nations sing out with one voice! Light of the world, You have helped us to see that we are one people and one day will shall all be free. 1. He came to open the eyes of the blind, letting the sunlight pour into their minds. Vision is waiting for those who have hope. He is the Light of the world. 2. He came to speak tender words to the poor, He is the gateway and He is the door. Riches are waiting for all those who hope. He is the light of the world. 3. He came to open the doors of the gaol, He came to help the downtrodden and frail. Freedom is waiting for all those who hope. He is the Light of the world. 4. He came to open the lips of the mute, letting them speak out with courage and truth. His words are uttered by all those who hope. He is the Light of the world. 5. He came to heal all the crippled and lame, sickness took flight at the sound of His name. Vigour is waiting for all those who hope. He is the light of the world. 6. He came to love everyone on this earth and through His Spirit He promised rebirth. New life is waiting for all those who hope. He is the Light of the world.

Musical support is much louder than the voice. Perhaps if the voice was louder and clearer , it would enhance the good singing.

Yes I agree. I am not very good at making recordings and I haven't had time to make any new ones. I'll try to keep this in mind when I do another one. If I could redo this and change the audio on the same video, I would. It might be possible but I don't know how. Thanks for the constructive comments and for liking my singing!

On Christmas eve during WW1, enemies on both sides of the trenches came out singing about Jesus, the prince of Peace's birth! I think it would be a good idea to spend some time listening and singing praise songs to help end wars. Maybe praise music could be piped into war zones. And prayers with hands held high like Moses did for winning a battle. Mary, may your Immaculate Heart Triumph! Sacred Heart, our Lord and Savior, true God, be loved by all! Isaiah 2:4. Isn't it time to make weapons into plow shears!
