Even though the 3rd Gen is even more "obsolete," I bought one last week, as it's retailing for about £25 here, in the UK. I love it and already have it controlling 2 Smart Plugs. I much prefer the "puck" design and it looks great on top of one of my HiFi Speakers (the Sphere would just look weird) However, the bottom isn't as "non slip" as it appears. Mine "travels" when it''s playing the radio! 😉😉 But, I applied 4 small "Glu-Dots" to the bottom and it's going nowhere now. But, for the price and for what it can do, this is a gem of a device!

2 years old but still needed because of how these "smart" lights are. 😂

Idk why, but everytime I turn on my bulb, it just blinks in the same colorinas yours, then it pauses and blinks a blue colour, then green and finally red, won’t let me do ANYTHING after that, I don’t know what to do:(

I think you just like the 3rd gen echo dot. The 4th gen has a much better base. Great for certain types of music but like you said, they are both good. I don't know why you can't find the White version of the echo 3, brand new, in the UK. It's generally used and over priced.

Have you considered doing a NEST thermostat review? I have one and they are the bees knees. While they are designed in the U.S. they are 100% made in China. So would it qualify?

They look nice. Thx for doing this review. I imagine it depends how brightly you have them set but have you noticed how long the batteries last? I was hoping to run them 8 hours a night but don't want to be replacing batteries every week either. Take care.
