Sarah left Jack to build a family with Phil from Modern Family. 😅 Btw, I don't really know if the timelines coincide. (Lost & Modern Family)

I've always been confused as to why she left him intially. I understand it was because he was too busy with work, but I honestly don't remember her ever saying anything about that to try and fix it. Maybe I'm forgetting a scene but to me it felt like her character left him for no good reason lol

All the flashbacks was the demise of LOST. Not this scene necessarily, but overall. Just way too many flashbacks, when the fans just wanted answers from previous seasons. Instead… we kept getting flashbacks, terrible wigs, terrible beards, and nonsense. I understand ABC tried milking LOST for as long as it could, but rather than answering questions, they just kept adding on, which pissed off viewers

According to IMDb trivia on this episode: Sarah wasn't originally pregnant, but when Julie Bowen showed up on set, they decided not to cover her pregnancy because it was more painful to Jack to see how his ex-wife had moved on with her life.

It's hard to make out how Sarah felt about her marriage to Jack given we only see things from Jack's point of view. But its this scene that the writers cement it that it was Jack was a entirely the victim in his marriage and divorce once Sarah says offering him a ride home would be "inappropriate." Jack didn't abuse this woman. He nursed her back to health when she was a stranger at a time when her fiance left her. If she felt that uncomfortable with Jack at this time - she could have called his mother - Sarah could have even offered Jack a phone call or voicemail if she felt genuinely worried about him. But no, it's like her presence in this scene is only to vent out her spite for Jack. It's the same spite we saw in the courtroom scene where Jack is being kind and submissive to Sarah' wishes regarding their divorce - and Sarah has the nerve to let a phone call interrupt his heart to heart while laughing on the phone with her new bo - right in front of Jack's face! While lost fans never saw Sarah's perspective regarding their marriage, we can be rest assured that Sarah never respected Jack as her husband as she fails to respect the guy simply as a person after their separation. Jack Shephard was a victim of a very toxic marriage.

You can't blame her for being awkward, when she goes to the ER after learning that her Ex husband who she hasn't seen in 3 years was in a car accident. It's a very awkward situation, and I personally am kind of surprised that one he never changed his emergency contact, and 2 that she even went down to the ER to check on him. Also, if you think about it, "Yeah I have to drive my ex husband home at 3am" is almost worse then, "sorry babe, I have to go to the hospital and see my Ex husband". Both of those are conversations she does not want to have with her new husband. The conversation in the hospital is awkward enough her not sure if it is appropriate to give him a ride home at 3 in the morning is completely understandable. She was under no obligations to even go to the hospital to see if he was ok. And Jack did not submit to her wishes for the divorce, it was made clear that he contested the divorce. Jack was not a saint by any means.

@@lauraschoenborn3544 I gotta disagree with your points. I completely understand what you are saying about this kind of situation can make any ex-spouse uncomfortable - and yes I agree - Sarah by no means had to show up for Jack given the circumstances - but dang - you have to see where I'm going with this - if you can't even meet the bare minimal for somebody - why show up for them at all? This scene of her shows her to be completely tactless at best - and downright spiteful at worst. Like I said before - she could have called his mom, offered him a phone call, or talked the situation with her new man and offered to visit him with her new man at a later time assuming she was comfortable with such a thought. But do you think she would have been comfortable with such an idea - no, of course not. This is a woman who cheated on her husband behind her back, refused to let Jack confront him, and then still expected to recieve half of Jack's money from after a divorce! Why did she expect all of this, because Sarah is trash! And in regards to the debate of Jack consenting to/ contested the divorce - honestly, if a spouse cheats on you with someone whom they refuse to even reveal their identity - I believe you the partner would have every right to withhold half of the networth of your shared assets if you are the one responsible for 90-100% of the income as Jack likely was as Jack was a spinal surgeon and Sarah was an elementary teacher. So yeah, obviously Jack consented to the divorce in a legal sense! Still, he didn't care about the damn money, a previous flashback shows Jack consenting to the divorce when telling her "you can have the car, the house, etc... I just want to know who is sleeping with my wife." (Lost 03 x 01 A tale of two cities) - Does she have a right to be intimidated for the sake of her new bo - absolutely! But if she could not consent like that for Jack given the stunt she pulled during her marriage, then I think Jack has every reason to contend his marriage legally. I can't help but wonder how much Sarah probably got out of Jack considering he said he fired his lawyer. And remember, she laughed with her new man on the phone right in front of Jack (all details seen in Lost 3 x 01, a tale of two cities) I saw lost several times and consider Sarah to be a piece of sh!t - 6 seasons of Lost showed us Jack the man was broken and no saint - but this woman was on a whole 'nother level. Again, Sarah was trash!

Everyone is hating on Sarah in this scene, but there is something much bigger that I cannot wrap my mind around. Is how is it that after so many years, him being labelled as missing after a plane crash, and getting engaged/living with Kate he never changed his emergency contact. His ex wife who he divorced before the plane crash, heck he went to Thailand after the divorce so it is safe to say that at least a year passed between the divorce and the plane crash is still his emergency contact 3 years after the crash.

@@lauraschoenborn3544a bit late but... Maybe Jack didn't want to confront or change things in real life, after his divorce & after he got back from the island. After a divorce, one will have to change emergency contacts, maybe the beneficiary in a will or insurance policy, etc. Maybe he just didn't want to face doing those things & just "shelved" them, then went on auto pilot or survivor mode: playing house w/ Kate and going to work at the hospital. That's my possible reason on why Sarah was still his emergency contact at this point.

I used to cry when I watch this scene. He is going through a lot of hardships in this time and she came a long and remained him of more of what he lost ...and he couldn't tell her what is going on with him because she wouldn't understand and she's not his wife to unburden himself to her .... And he did not have anyone any more ... I have been there myself and I still there ...so I know what it's like when you can't say what you want to say or not having anyone to unburden yourself to... Life is hard and lost represented that fact clearly. He fund out he had no thing to go back to except the island... That's where he belongs..
@lauraschoenborn3544 Жыл бұрын
Exactly!! It wasn't as much faith and Destiny like he tried to say it was, but he felt like protecting the island was the only thing he had in his life that he did not screw up. And honestly, I feel like Sarah would have understood because she had to know about the plane crash, probably even got the call. And who would Sarah tell about what actually happened on the island. Something tells me she could not tell her current husband. And she she understood Jack's need to fix things. I kind of wonder how different it would have been if she did drive him home, or unburden himself to her.

If you watched the show you would know it had nothing to do with her at all. He was stressed, and on drugs and drinking because he was unfulfilled and blamed himself partially for lockes death. He wanted to go back to the island, and had to get them all to come with him, and the fact that locke had died and that he knew they should have never left the island to begin with was eating him up to the point that he almost killed himself. It literally had nothing to do with his ex wife. It really all came down to having to go back to the island, and he didn't know how to deal with life off the island.
