Thanks for this video. After cruising for over 4 decades on nearly every cruise line & going all around the world, we were looking for something a little different & started looking at Virgin. After seeing this video I would never cruise with them. If you like Dave & Buster's, this is the cruise for you because you don't know any better. The decor is absulutly terrible. The colors are garish, the seating looks very uncomfortable, the design elements are boringly plain. The whole ship feels like they didn't totally on the cheap. We've been on ferries that were nicer.

@@John-el3oq Aw yes, the Jubilee was a wonderful ship. We did a back to back in early June. Of the three “XL” class ships, the Jubilee is my favorite. Kendall Fyre is my favorite Cruise Director, so full of energy. We’ll also be on the Dream next year!

New to the channel,we just sailed Independence of the seas then walked over to Horizon for our first side by side. We go back on Horizon in October and can’t wait.

@@cruisinkoozies Welcome! We did a side to side (kind of) with Virgin Scarlet Lady and the Horizon earlier this year. We had a day in between cruises and spent the day at Lion Country Safari in the West Palm Beach area. That’s our next video! The Horizon is a good ship and we’ve been on her 3 times now.

@@awmsman well it depends. Carnival would tell you to purchase 2 drink packages for obvious reasons. Pam and I get drink packages along with our offers because we frequent the casino. We don’t do a lot of drinking but we’ve learned that you can get shakes down at the Java Blue Cafe, that makes it worth it for us. So, it depends on how much you drink. If you only get a couple of alcoholic drinks per day, maybe not. I think most alcoholic drinks are between 9-15 bucks. I did get the following from carnival.com FAQ: Our CHEERS! Beverage Program must be purchased for each adult (21 years of age or older) assigned to the same stateroom.

I enjoyed that very much! Been on the Horizon 4 times and is the biggest ship I will go on, going back Sep. 22ed. I tend to gravitate to the smaller ships. More relaxing. Keep the videos coming and the music was fine!!

Great video but I had to watch it with the volume turned down. Sadly, the accordion in that "music" became very irritating after a few minutes. I'm a Caribbean musician and that sound track is NOT island calypso/soca. Other than that again great video and editing!👍

Thanks for sharing. We just booked OS 7375 on Horizon. The electrical outlets being so faraway from the sitting area and the bed will be a challenge I hope to resolve before our sail date.

It can be a challenge. We’ve bought 10 foot cords for our phones and make sure our laptops are fully charged before using them and recharge while not in use! On newer ships (Celebration & Jubilee) power outlets are more plentiful.

I don’t think so. I remember an announcement being made about a delay in the refueling process. It was a nice change from the typical sail away though. Seeing Miami at night was pretty awesome!

We think it was simply an “double decker open air bus tour of St Maarten”. If you choose to do a similar excursion, especially in August, it is going to be HOT. We sat on the on the lower deck so we wouldn’t be directly in the sun and we still almost melted. If they offer air conditioning buses for tours I would go with that, but that’s just us.

We took a whale excursion with Glacier Wind Charters in Icy Strait and on our first cruise with NCL the week before our Miracle cruise we took another whale excursion in Juneau and saw numerous whales. We also saw whales from the balcony of the cruise ships. Our first Alaska cruise was on NCL at the end of July and early August. The Miracle cruise was 3 days later in early August. If you haven’t watched the whole series of Alaska episodes on NCL Bliss and Carnival Miracle make sure to do that! We can’t wait to go back!

I'm really sensitive to smoke smells, so it would have left a big impression on me if I would have smelled smoke anywhere other than the casino or designated smoking areas. Now, I will say that sometimes, on certain other ships, we would get an exhaust smell. As for the activities, I guess it really depends on the individual if they participate in the activities or not, but there was plenty of things to do during our cruise.

Everyone that I’ve asked has said no, not straight out the water. If you buy one in a gift shop just make sure you hold on to the receipt.
