Great tutorial. I came across this whilst looking for an entirely different tutorial and I'm glad I found it as it's so useful. I was looking for a way to deal with curves on silk satin. I can't cut notches or it will fray. A very tricky issue to overcome. Anyway, thank you for this video. Bias tape may be a solution for my issue. Who knows.

Hi! Not sure if I missed it, did you back tack at all?
@NedaNiquie4 ай бұрын
Hi, yes of course. At the beginning of sewing when i refer to "Lock it", i meant that I backed my stitching. But I usually do it fast and just a few stitches.

Wow! Hehe my dream growing up was to be a wedding dress designer, I used to design my wedding dress too over and over. However I became an accountant and have worked over 20 years behind a desk looking at numbers every day 😂This would be my dream job ❤

Is it true that the fabric “shrink”/retract? Is it better to cut the pattern before or after the interfacing? Thanks a lot ❤
@NedaNiquie8 ай бұрын
Hi, yes fabric shrinks under some circumstances. I usually buy fabrics that are pre-shrunk treatment and washed (for release chemicals or color if it dark) that is done in the mill. Now 100% Cotton, wool or similar usually shrink after a wash, but before you use interfacing it's a good idea to iron your fabric before any application. Other than that, when considering to use interfacing especially the heavier one, you must know you will lose most of the natural stretch or flexibility of the fabric, meaning it might feel tighter if you want to make something form fitting that is interfaced.

You can start by doing the edging of Chiffon or any silk top with short sleeves. This is a great finishing for visible edges of blouses, skirts or anything that you like their finishing touches to look high-end. Cheers. ❤

I fully agree that the so called dress making markers and pens don't use. I use a normal pen if I know it is in a place where it won't show after finishing the garment, but the art pencils sound like a brilliant idea❤

thank you for this tutorial. Does the bouclé fabric need a pre-treatment before use? Greetings from The Netherlands!
@NedaNiquie6 ай бұрын
You may want to lock their unraveling further at seam allowance by stitching. I would recommend zigzag or wider stitches to not create stiffness or stop the natural stretch of the weave. For finishing you can use nice overlocking stitches or I did cover all the seam allowance of each pattern, with thin silk habotai and finished with Hong Kong seams on connecting seams.
