I just took a look at the Costco website here in Canada and it shows two 80v electric shovels from Greenworks. One with directional control (like this one), and one without. This one costs very little extra and would be the shovel of choice. It seems like this one would be great for sidewalks and walkways. I usually clear two driveways as my neighbor is away during the winter months, so I'm guessing that I would need two batteries to get it all done.

@@teamdriven32 Same here. Even after I charged it, it wouldn’t show all bars full on the display, yet the indicator on the battery itself showed full charge. I wasn’t putting 2 and 2 together, as I had only charged it 3 times. I noticed in another video, that you have the fender brackets on both front and rear fenders. I just received my bike January 24th, and come to think of it, I don’t know if I have a ’23 or ‘24 model. Either way, mine didn’t come with fender brackets. The question is, did you purchase them separately? Thank you in advance.

How is the balnce of weight between the rear and front? Have you placed cargo of at least 20lbs and rode ebike of the weight balance. Are the handlebars geta little wobbly when pulling weight, especially going fast and hitting bumps? Ive notice with other fat tires this be the case, however you can modify bike to counter weight of front cargo rack but the best way as many makers now just adding a 2nd motor in front to counter this. I just went ahead and added my own CKit motor on front and the ebike is now much more practical of handling on any terrain or bumps.

Let's see you take this on a long distance road trip. 30,000 miles and $1400 for tires isn't impressive when on an ICE you can get 60,000 miles and they don't cost $350 a tire. EVs are not the cure all transportation solution. They are good solution for local commutes but not so much for long distance travel unless you don't mind waiting for the vehicle to charge and you don't mind getting towed out of the way if the vehicle has any failure. Also, the batteries are not very efficient in the colder weather as cold effects the battery and the car has to heat the batteries to keep them from freezing. You didn't mention what insurance and registration rates are on this EV. You are also limited on where you take the vehicle for service. I would recommend hanging on to the ICE as a backup vehicle and to take on long road trips. Pretty color blue though.
@teamdriven32 Жыл бұрын
It’s clear you have concerns about electric vehicles (EVs) in comparison to internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles. Let’s address your points: 1. Tire Wear & Cost: It’s true that some EVs, especially high-performance models, may wear out their tires faster than some ICE cars. This is partly due to the additional weight of batteries and instant torque. However, not all EVs will wear out their tires at 30,000 miles, and tire choices can influence longevity. As for tire cost, it varies greatly by make, model, and brand of both EV and ICE vehicles. 2. Long Distance Travel: With advancements in EV infrastructure, long-distance travel has become more feasible. Charging networks like Tesla’s Superchargers can charge a car up to 80% in around 30 minutes. It’s a different routine than refueling a gasoline car, but with proper planning, it’s doable. Moreover, as technology progresses, charging times are expected to reduce even further. 3. Vehicle Failure: Like ICE vehicles, EVs can experience issues. However, the perception that EVs are more likely to leave you stranded isn’t accurate. In fact, EVs have fewer moving parts, which can mean fewer points of failure. Regular maintenance and understanding your vehicle’s range can mitigate the risk of being stranded. 4. Cold Weather Efficiency: It’s true that cold weather can reduce battery efficiency. However, this is improving with newer EV models and advanced battery technology. Many modern EVs have thermal management systems that help mitigate the effects of cold weather. 5. Insurance & Registration Rates: Insurance and registration rates can vary. Some areas offer incentives or reduced registration fees for EVs, while insurance can be influenced by factors like the car’s value, safety features, and repair costs. 6. Service Limitations: While it’s true that not all mechanics are trained to work on EVs, this is changing. More technicians are being trained on EVs as they become more common. Additionally, many EVs require less routine maintenance (e.g., no oil changes). 7. ICE as Backup: This is a personal choice. Some people may feel more comfortable having an ICE vehicle for certain situations, while others have transitioned fully to EVs. 8. Aesthetics: Personal tastes vary, but many appreciate the design and aesthetics of modern EVs. In conclusion, while EVs might not be the perfect solution for everyone, they represent a step towards sustainable transportation. Their benefits, such as lower emissions and reduced dependency on fossil fuels, make them an important part of the future of transportation. As technology and infrastructure continue to advance, many of the concerns you’ve raised are likely to be addressed.

If you're going to compare to ICE, give me a 4.2s 0-60 ICE car that doesn't go through tires... 🥲. I went from a 2019 Lexus IS300AWD to a Model Y long range. I put over 30k KM on my tesla in the last 8 months and the cost comparison and performance isn't comparable at all. No oil changes, better driving in Snow, Better range on the Tesla and way more practicality while also being way faster.
@johnh.wilson2081 Жыл бұрын
@@teamdriven32 One other item I didn't mention is that your Tesla, should you decide to sell it, most likely won't have a very high resale value since Tesla continues to lower prices. The market continues to soften for EVs as the public becomes more informed about them. Who wants to wait 30 minutes every time they need a charge and you can only charge it to 80% which means it's getting the range that was advertised. The world is not ready for EVs yet, maybe in about 10 more years when they can find a better power source than the current batteries they offer. Fossil fuel cars still have the over all advantage in every way. Most folks buy these Tesla's for the status they think they will have driving one.
@teamdriven32 Жыл бұрын
@@johnh.wilson2081 Resale Value: It’s a misconception that Teslas have low resale values. According to various studies and industry analyses, Teslas tend to have a higher resale value than many other vehicles in their class, including other electric vehicles. The quality, brand recognition, and performance of the car all contribute to this. Moreover, the price adjustments made by Tesla are in line with how technology-driven industries evolve - as tech becomes cheaper to produce, prices decrease. This happens across many sectors, not just automobiles. EVs has been growing steadily. Numerous major automakers have committed to transitioning to fully electric or hybrid lineups in the near future. If the market were softening, we wouldn’t see such commitments and investments. Charge Times & Battery Percentage: The 30-minute charge time often refers to Superchargers which can provide a significant amount of range in a short time. Moreover, many people charge their EVs overnight at home, so they start the day with a full battery. As for the 80% charge, that’s a recommendation for daily charging to extend the life of the battery, but the car can certainly charge to 100% for longer trips. Advertised Range: The majority of EVs, when charged to 100%, do meet or exceed their advertised range under normal driving conditions. Like all vehicles, range can vary based on factors like speed, driving style, and environmental conditions. World Readiness: The growth in EV charging infrastructure and the increased range of newer models have made EVs more practical for many consumers. Many cities globally have also begun offering incentives for EV ownership to reduce carbon emissions. Battery Technology: It’s true that battery technology is continuously evolving, and we can expect future batteries to be even more efficient and long-lasting. However, current batteries in leading EVs are already impressive in terms of range and life expectancy. Fossil Fuel Cars: While gasoline-powered cars have had over a century of development and have their advantages, it’s not accurate to say they hold an advantage in “every way.” EVs have benefits like instant torque, lower maintenance costs, zero emissions, and often cheaper refueling (charging) costs. Purchasing Motives: While some people may buy a Tesla or any luxury car for status, many purchase EVs for their performance, environmental benefits, and long-term cost savings.
