Fair winds to you. Babbacombe looked like a future stop to aim for. Which headphone system did you use? I've been looking for similar for my wife and I. Thanks

Hi Darrel Thanks for the comment and yes Babbacombe has become a fave stop along the south coast, we will miss it when we head off to the med next year. The headsets we use are by Sena and we opted for the short mics as they don’t catch on anything when we move around. Sound is great, full duplex and the battery lasts for ages, they also pair with you phone so you can listen to music or take a call should you need to. Hope that helps and maybe see you on the water some time in the future

Interesting following your journey, my boat is smaller and trailed but I often launch in the Solent, Torquay and Mylor 😊

Are yes one of the big advantages of having a trailered yacht. You can drive to the best locations and then enjoy the sailing ⛵️ let’s hope this year we get a few less storms and a few more force 4s

@@asailingmuggle and it costs nothing to store on the trailer at home when not in use. I had a mooring for 30 years but not having that expense is nice 🙂

Good point we are currently running at £8000 PA which I will be very glad to reduce when we finally cruse full time

@@asailingmuggle it's all pro's and con's, as you know. I'm tight in my old age, in Mylor I usually launch and park for free 🤦♂️

Was the heads seacock a tight fit in the locker?
@asailingmuggle10 ай бұрын
We are lucky enough to have good access around all our seacocks. We did need to cut a small amount out of the cupboard but that was only because we fitted the trudesign collar. It was probably not needed but we tend to go belt and braces on Lowena
@mwomersley663610 ай бұрын
Thanks for the reply, I had heard that more room was required for the Trudesign fittings. @@asailingmuggle
@asailingmuggle10 ай бұрын
Yes I would say about 10% a little more if you use the collar due to it making the fitting more awkward

Hey, i'd like to sail in sporades during june/july. Just wondering something : how was the wind during your trip ? not too much violent ? thanks a lot
@asailingmuggle Жыл бұрын
Hi Bill I have only just seen this so sorry for not replying sooner. I must have notifications turned off. The wind on the Aegean is generally stronger than the Ionian but we found it more consistent and like the whole of Greece it becomes stronger in the afternoon. We only had one night where the wind would have been over 30knts in the anchorage we were planning to go to so we diverted. The biggest issue is some of the islands are uninhabited so have no cell coverage and therefor weather reports will go out of date quickly if you don't find civilisation. We are not the most experienced sailors and Sam likes the gentle down wind stuff but we had no issues. On the plus side its is not as popular as the Ionian (no idea why) so you should generally get an anchorage or harbour spot when you need one Hope this helps and i wish you fair winds on your next adventure. Now off to find that notification button :-)

Thanks for the vote of confidence Mr K. It's such a radical departure from the norm it does make you think, so to get this from someone that has done it means a lot. Fair winds my friend but judging by the picture you don't need wind :-)
