Did you loosen both sides before lifting to take out the spring? I only have one side loose

What they do not tell you is that the $60.00 2"leveling kit will cost you $635.00. This is what I found out after I installed the Rough Country 2" leveling kit, I had to buy a $450.00 adjustable track bar because the spacer offset the front tires 1.5" to the left so to get the front end back in track with the rear it cost $450.00 or wear out the front tires. Then comes the front end alignment $125.00. Now with this all said and done, add $60.00 plus $450.00 plus $125.00 = $635.00 to raise up 2" at a cost of $317.50 per inch. Is it worth it that is up to you I would not do it again.

You can do the tire change meter correction with Forscan under 5minutes to any size

Are those 20x9 or 20x10 wheels

So, you dont need to put a bigger shock up front? Saw another video, they put spacers under the sway bar where it mounts to the chassis, nothing on this kit?

All you said is very true but in this case it was the notorious recalled failed timing chain tensioner.

Why didn't you install a longer track bar or the Rough Country track bar drop bracket? Without installing a longer track bar or drop bracket the axle is not centered under the truck. The driver side tire is now 3/4" inch or more farther out than the passenger side. Rough Country sells a 2" leveling kit with those same aluminum blocks you used plus a track bar drop bracket for $70 more than just the blocks alone. It seems stupid to skimp on $70 when applying it to a $50,000+ truck. You should also mention that the front end has to be re-aligned as part of the installation. Nice clear video of the install. This is how people end up with F250 death wobble. Not using proper torque specs on the suspension nuts and bolts. This is also how my trailer dealer almost killed me. Not using a proper torque wrench set to 250lbs on my WDH. This is also why I do all my own work. Because I realize things are supposed to be tightened properly or people can die. Not only myself, but all those driving around me.

your rotating the engine the wrong way

I think that the timing chain jumped because it’s stretched not the tensioner, if the tensioner is meant to stay in one position, Audi would’ve installed a metal bracket not a tensioner with a spring ,

You ask how do you avoid this from happening? How can I get the timing chain serviced without having to pay $3,000 +? I just called Audi Escondido and they quoted me $4,000 to service the timing chain. The other foreign car shops have quoted me $1,500 - $2,300. This is outrageous for a maintenance service. I have a 2012 Audi A3 CBFA and currently at 123,000 miles. Do you have any referrals here in San Diego that doesn't charge so much? Its almost worth just replacing the damn engine every 100,000 miles.

Vw engines are just garbage now. Had 3 VWs but would never have another. This tensioner has had no less than 4 different designs now. Crappy engineering

I have 2019 Ford F250 Lariat 4x4, with 2" spacer and 35x12.5x20 tires will there be any rubbing? Rough Country only recommends up to 33" tires?

Great info.. I've noticed a rattling sound on cold starts that I assume is the timing chain (same engine as this)over the past few months. I've been on top of all PMs and oil changes. I'm wondering if you have suggestions for preventing a catastrophic failure? (Seafoam treatment or comparable) Doesn't look like I can service the chain tensioner without pulling the engine. I'd like to hear your thoughts. Thx

Thanks a ton for sharing this. My C7 Audi 2.0t suffered this same tensioner failure. Luckily I was at 97k miles and still had 3k miles left on the engine warranty I bought the car with. Thought I might try to save the old engine from being scrapped by the shop but I’m glad you tore into it so that I didn’t have to find out all I had was a paperweight

Nice job done !!! Have one question so if I put just the 2 inch spacer under spring no other parts needed to install? Just take the truck to get it realignment done and that’s it ??? No other things to install??
