Only 14 minutes in so far, yet what a great interview! Matt, it's great you allow your guests the time to speak, even though I'm sure you have loads of questions you want to ask! David, what a great storyteller you are. What a really interesting career you've had - from crossing paths with Cilla and The Stones - and then later, just crossing Joan Ferguson!!

If kate did kill sandy could of been when sandy wasnt looking and kate hit her over the head with dustbin lid, then threw her in back of garbage truck, what is interesting to me is when kate later trys to kill judy bryant and judy says im no light weight but kate dragged her and her strength was immense, and before this threw bea across the room and hurt kaultner as well, so its like a hint of what you said that in fear and panic brought sudden immense strength, it was like a hint of what she might have done to sandy catching sandy off guard or when she wasnt looking, cause it would take great strength for kate to lift sandys body and throw her into the back of garbage truck, so it was like a hint of this immense strength to be able to do that lift her and throw her into the garbage truck

Maggie Kirkpatrick is no different from onscreen character. She sexually assaulted a young girl and got away with it. She's filthy scum.

It's funny how we all have wildly different opinions on the same characters. I loved Myra Desmond, she was my favourite top dog, she definitely had flaws but I think that's what made her so loveable.

Someone ask why she had to SHOUT! Every single line? Was she told to do that or did it just natural? As she doesn't seem to have that kind of voice here in real life

I don’t think the script writers of Prisoner Cell Block H knew which direction to take Kath Maxwell. They weren’t sure if she do well as bad or good. They wanted a real baddie for sure , someone that the fellow inmates would hate but Kath showed her good self towards the end. It was the fellow prisoners who didn’t understand the circumstances of Kath that made her a ‘bad’ person but in reality Kath had to make a difficult decision that destroyed her life. The actor that played her was the right person for the job. That’s the good thing about prisoner, the writers always have the habit of finding the right actor for the role and they got it perfectly right here.

The showrunner role/title has been in existence in the UK since at least 2005 - Russell T Davies was called this from the time that Doctor Who was rebooted

Couldn't stand either of their characters Desmond & Bryant. I mean one was from the PRJ and the other running a half way house but when they took over as top dogs all they did is bash and attempted to kill other women inside!! They seemed to instantly forget what they once were, so they had no credibility, in my opinion.
@David-kp5mpАй бұрын
Judy I just found her character annoying and exhausting to watch. Mayra I liked her she's 4 on my top dog list.
@cutekanjii27 күн бұрын
No they didn't they were always going on about rehabilitation and helping the women for the outside
@TheSoulUK27 күн бұрын
@cutekanjii No way! Desmond was worse than Bea you watch the start of her reign as TD until she died she persistently used violence in every situation where she was challenged. I mean she bashed poor Bobbie to a pulp and destroyed Lou Kelly on numerous occasions. Bryant advocated violence also wanting The Freak and Kelly to both die. No...for me they were both hypocrites who ruled by violence. Bea used it when it was absolutely necessary so I'm not sure why the producers chose that path for Desmond as a bash artist.
@cutekanjii27 күн бұрын
@TheSoulUK not saying they did t use violence, but it wasn't a first resort. Bea was a bit more hot headed than Myra. She only bashed Bobby because she had already warned them all the next one to bring in drugs will get it. So once it cane to light what Bobby had done she had to bssh here otherwise it would be seen as one rule for her mates and another for everyone else. Although I don't see what the big deal is especially with weed. The more of them on weed there are the less trouble you'd have

Good video 👍. I was there in 2014 to see the old Prisoner building. I had to go on the Neighbours tour to get in. I wasn't really interested in Neighbours, so i spent my time by the old Prisoner block. I am a big fan of prisoner. I went on the tour twice, just to get in to see the prisoner block. The 2nd time i spent all the tour at the block. Ive got loads of photos of it. I visited the place again, a 3rd time, just going round the whole of the outside. It was evening, and place was closed. Done all that in Dec 2014. I flew from Scotland, thats where i live

Sorry I’m two years to late to all these interviews, but saying that I was to young to watch Prisoner (Cell Block H) as it’s called in the uk, but I instantly loved it on a re-run in the 90’s. I loved all of prisoner, but I must say when Lexie came into it, then Julie and subsequently Rita, have got to be my favourite times. The energy, the fun the fights, were all just so great. Funnily enough I (we, my partner and I) started watching Prisoner from Mira, a couple of months ago, we’ve just got to the trainee officers. My partner being younger than me, has never seen prisoner, now I’ve the full collection from episode one to the very last episode, which I must say, was not only very sad, as it was the end, but absolutely brilliant that Rita finally got her revenge on the Freak. We are binge watching, every evening. We are both loving it. We’re both big fans of Wentworth, but there’s no comparison, both very,very good, for very different reasons. We love them both. I’m now going to go watch episode two of Pepe Trevor’s interview. Thanks guys , again I now I’m 2 years to late to all this, but I’m loving it, Lexie and Rita were my favourite characters….. oh and Chucky too 😁 xXx

I did the Australian tour of Gypsy with Nell in 1975-76 and I can see her in my memory as clear as day, arriving and leaving the theatre, dressed like a real star, head high, seemingly 7' tall.. oozing glamour. We got on very, very well and she was one of my go-to people for a chat and coffee. She was a fabulous Tessie Turra. How wonderful to see and hear her here. Thankfully we're still in touch.
@wearecityАй бұрын
She was a great villain, but because she was a strong villain there's no way she and Bea could have been in it together for too long. It's like having 2 star strikers in the same position, just not room for both.
