So one time my friend wanted burgers but I was hungry for tacos. My friend argued that it wasn't Tuesday, but I pointed out that just because it's not Tuesday doesn't mean you can't have tacos. Turns out tacos are everywhere, every day.

As the Director of a Dollar Baby film (The Last Rung on the Ladder), I can say the Anthony is synonymous with Dollar Baby. He is a relentless promoter of the King and specifically the Dollar Baby program. I don't know of any authority of this program more involved and knowledgeable than Anthony. It was an honor to be included in the book and stories behind these films are phenomenal.

The book 1978, the film 1998 are radically different, but both works are tough emotionally and intellectually, there is quite a bit of theology in both works ,JUDEO CHRISTIAN, perhaps inadvertently as well as NEW AGE… this theology doesn’t “tickle ears”😂 though. ROBIN WILLIAMS and ANNABELLA SCIORRA give the film a certain gravitas. The book should be read several times and the film seen (maybe not several times) to fully understand both plot lines and their SPIRITUAL implications.

I really can't imagine any other actors playing those parts. Matheson was very spiritual and so well read. 'd like to read some of his books on the subject, but a lot of his spiritual reflections make it into this book for sure.

What a great discussion to find! I’ve been watching the original series on KZbin lately, and even though I was a fan of horror and Science Fiction as a kid and watch the original series during its original run, I am now astonished at the level of writing, cinematography, and especially the acting. No matter how outlandish the stories were, the actors gave it their all, which is really a treasure to behold. Thank you.

Now I'm curious what music Felix will come out with. Personally I'd much rather him take the musical path for a while and come out with amazing songs to listen to. Felix, if you see this comment, please take care of yourself, your mental health and definitely go explore music. It's also cathartic. I can't wait to see what you come up with with song writing. Matheson always seems defensive and on the back foot. He seems shifty and insincere. Then again, that could have been a byproduct of his genius (and he was a genius-his works are the proof). It's like he's hiding a dark secret.

I'm curious why you feel that why? Sadly, I never had the chance to interact with him, but I do understand he was a very humble and quiet man, though to your point, I have heard he could be rather insecure as many of the greats were despite their greatness.

They don't want to challenge their hopefully content-mented (and easily distracted) consumers/audiences.......and this story does exactly that which makes it great......and funny that they've had multiple chances/adaptions but clearly no conviction (or balls).
@darkbites
@darkbites 9 ай бұрын
I think audiences are smarter than what you suggest. And it's not like the adaptations have all been terrible, just not authentic to the book which, as Mark states, is never a surprise when it comes to Hollywood. Thank goodness we at least have Matheson's script to know what he had envisioned as an adaptation of his book.
