The sheikh is stating aqeedah is in accordance with the Quran and sunnah and not contrary to it. There may be ingnorance in beliefs, which are shirk or kufr. Although we should know that scholars like Imam Ashari and sheikhul Islam ibn Tayyimah may Allah have mercy upon them both, made every effort to prevent the people of their respective times falling into shirk and kufr through incorrect Aqeedah. During Imam Ashari's time, the people were in danger of likening the Creator to His creation, Allah forbid. He did not deny verses of the Quran, and through his efforts, the Iman of many was saved. However, I do believe that it was a matter asigned to that time. And that we should revert back to the approach of the Sahabah may Allah be pleased with them all. And like wise, Sheikh ibn Taymiyyah made every effort to prevent the people of his time denying verses of the Quran. Again, that was an approach needed at his time. Most followers in Aqeedah of both these Imams are ahlus sunnah. But to believe one group denies verses of the quran and the other likens the Creator to his creation is not correct. We are all from Ahlus Sunnah. No doubt there will be a minority that is extreme and in opposition to the other group from among both groups. The sheikh is not referring to the extreme he is referring to the majority from both groups that accept all verses in a manner that befits Allah's majesty and firmly believes there is nothing whatsoever that is comparable to Allah. He is unique and without comparison and perfect and pure and flawless. Yet the approach of boh Imams in Aqeedah is different and appears to be the opposite of the other Imams, on some points, not all. This is why he states it is like in Fiqh, and there may be differences. One group should not be wholesale, making takfir of the other group. Most people have the right Aqeedah. Although it is important that we take knowledge from the learned in matters of aqeedah so that we do not fall into.shirk and kufr. And where there are individuals with wrong beliefs that are close to shirk or kufr, we explain in a good manner what the correct beliefs are. May Allah give us all a life of Islam and death upon Iman.

I advise you learn more about this sheikh before making a judgement on him. The most renowned scholars and daees refer to him as the modern day source of knowledge and wisdom, he has extremely high credentials.

What you said is aqeedah, but those thing are in general and they include details that also is fard to believe, for example peope believe in the last day but they refute that they will see Allah, or they believe in akhirah but they refute the life of barzikha. Don't confuse people because aqeedah is belief, and belief of a muslim should be one.
