Hello UncleMark I hope you see this comment. I followed this video and checked this actuator on my 2014 dodge ram and the needle moves up and down freely, switching from hot to cold. My driver side heat still remains very luke warm/cold, while the passenger side is hot. Is it a good idea to still buy a new door blend actuator and switch it out anyways? Im hoping this doesnt become a heater core issue 🥴 thanks again, great video 👍
@unclemarksdiyautoКүн бұрын
@@williamdavid3306 what I have heard is that it is a heater core issue. The weird way the core is situated has one half for the passenger and one for the drivers side. The drivers side plugs first. Have you spoken to a mechanic shop or the dealer. If this is the cure, the dash has to come out. I have heard somewhere in the $1500-2500 range. If your blend door is working, there is no benifet to replacing it. As for flushing the core, it will not clear the plugged side according to a dodge tech buddy of mine. Before doing anything, or abandoning this project, keep looking for some answers. Sorry I can’t be of more help, William.

Just wanted to add that while performing any type of mechanicing, I've found the one thing that really helps is knowing and using the half a dozen "power words" that I learned from watching my Daddy work on things. @@michaelcooper2897 Not sure if there is a recalibration procedure. Some vehicles require the dash to come out to reach them. My sons 2014 ram 1500 has no heat , i flushed the core a few weeks ago and after it had great heat, a couple weeks later he said his heat was gone again, so in the meantime his belt came off and it got hot and lost some coolant, after fixing that and topping off the coolant i checked the temp at the vents and it was 105f, now a week later no heat again, the hoses to the core are hot, so I'm guessing it's that little motor or the blend doors themselves..

@@sooperdan Womder if heater core is just plugging up with junk in the coolant? Or like you say, maybe now a blend door issue. I guess if you flushed core one more time and it’s giving heat, it’s a core & coolant issue. Keep us posted please, Dan.
