Stopped by the graves of my parents' best friends who recently passed. Toby is buried a few feet away. As an OU alum I am a huge fan of the great Waymon Tisdale. Saw Waymon in his prime - still marvel at him. One of the best videos. I'm a little surprised I didn't know these guys, but couldn't be prouder of them. BOOMER!

I was the only OU fan in a room of 27 Ohio State fans, on temporary assignment to a sister ship (U.S. Navy) in San Diego. The Buckeye fans had mercilessly harassed me the whole game. When OU scored towards the end of the game and then failed on their two-point conversion that would have tied it, they laughed and said "that touchdown doesn't matter. You still lost the game!" I remember Uwe von Schamann kicking off. He kicked it hard and drilled it into the numbers of one of the Ohio State players. It seemed like slow motion as the ball hit his chest. He tried to grab it, but the ball bounced off and OU recovered it. They ran a couple of plays and von Schamann kicked the winning field goal. I was so obnoxious that I thought the Buckeye fans were going to throw me over the side of the ship. It was an amazing ending..

I remember playing against him in high school. He played for Tulsa Washington and I was on Tulsa Memorial. He was amazing even in high school.
