海外にもTimber Sportsっていう木こりの腕を競う大会があります。 でも競技内容は実にマッチョで 「80馬力のチェーンソーで丸太から3枚の円盤を切り出す」「斧だけで直径30センチの丸太を切る」「2mの手引きノコギリで丸太を切る」みたいな感じ(ぜんぶタイムアタック)

This CANT be a real thing. Carving competitions: yes- they are amazing. An axe cutting wood… a tree saw cutting through a log… come on! And how did THESE clowns ‘quality’ for ANYTHING?! Actually- it’s ridiculous. A REAL competition would be to cut down an awkward leaning tree with a marsh on one side, trim it- cut it up into firewood- WHILE keeping the brush cleaned up, load it, unload it and be home by 5:30. Let’s see what kinda ‘athlete’ they REALLY are!

Tons of skill. Anyone can cut a log, but can you cut it as precise and fast as someone else, thats the test. Chopping and Sawing are the two main components of the various disciplines.
