Hey sorry for commenting years later on this post but got a quick question. Say this scenario - any house attacks me as Baratheon and only I (Baratheon) have support adjacent to the embattled area and I play Stannis. Does this mean my adjacent support (as Baratheon) goes away completely? The "including your own" text bit on the card is confusing.

Delta IV should have begun with a production node, not research. Neutral civilizations are developed in priority order, production > research > culture, and the open node provided a slot for a production node.

Old video and all, just feel like I want to push back on you prioritizing the star orders (King's Court) over the sword (Fiefdoms). If you are trying to be aggressive or know that you will be fighting a lot, having the sword is universally the more versatile option over having the +1 orders. It boils down to you being able to win all combat ties AND using the sword to be able to bring yourself up to a tie if needed, which means that opponents have to factor that in when fighting you (assigning pieces to an attack, choosing cards...). Now they have to beat you with at least 2 strength to secure the battle, and an unused sword is a great deterrence. And sure, there are situations where star orders would have more impact in a single battle than the sword. That is very conditional though, and open to intervention from your opponents (such as raiding your +1 support). The real value of the star orders are 1) the star consolidate enabling you to build up your forces during early to mid game and 2) giving you another march order in the late game. Trying to maneuver your forces and attack to win the game with only 2 marches can be rather painful. And 3) just having more orders in general just lets you do more and makes it a little bit easier to capitalize on opportunities. To be clear, this is nothing but my opinion. I love this game, have played it for a long time and am able to play it semi-regularly and consider myself to be "good". I have a win rate well above 1/6 and have racked up a reputation among friends as a sneaky bastard, and often find myself facing coalitions of revenge. What I wrote above has been corroborated by extensive field tests (😈) and observation. But it's still an opinion.

Tell me about it! I bought the game over the weekend and I’ve been reading and anticipating getting it to the table. Usually, I play solo games but this will be an exception. Can’t wait! I was debating whether or not to buy the expansion and play my first game with the expansion or just the base game. I’m leaning towards just playing the base for several games before jumping into the expansion.

No real tips here, sooo... Tip #1- get those weapons up first, you want to be the aggressor. 1 destroyed rival ship is taken as a research token. Tip #2- have the reconnaissance fleet ready first, you want to seed rival world's at the first opportunity. This aids with project effects but also you can switch places with the strike fleet. Tip #3- similar to the Romulans and Vulcans you want research world's more than anything. Andorians can get OP fast with the right projects and those weapon and shield upgrades. ...that's all I gone so far, still fresh with the Andorians. If you've got more add them below 👇. Live long and Prosper guys 🖖

As a Baratheon my opener turn 1 is either take King's Landing or go super aggressive by sea towards Stark or Martell if they don't counter me. Greyjoys are monsters early game, you have the sword, strong navi, strong cards, and can go super aggressive on the Lannisters. Basically it doesn't matter which house I'm playing, I always try to expand by sea into the guy that I want to kill. Also, playing with no raven stars is miserable, always try to get at least 1, preferably 2

The guy whose cards in hand could be seen during the game made some horrible strategic decisions. For example, he kept the Goldsmith in his hand during the whole course of the game, since the very first turn!!! The Goldsmith is one of the most useless cards in the introductory game UNLESS you have more than one gold region and/or the toll bridge built in your principality. The dude even CHOSE GOLD VOLUNTARILY on at least two occasions, trying to get the three gold in order to use the Goldsmith. That is absolutely inefficient and a desastrous strategy!!! Instead of choosing gold in order to use the Goldsmith in some future round (which eventually never happened in this game), he should have picked more valuable resources and use them immediately!

Hey just a note. around 14:30 it SEEMS like you are implying that during a siege battle, if the attacking player chooses to demote an elite unit to continue the fight, that on all subsequent rounds 5s and 6s both hit. That would NOT be correct, as the rules make a blanket statement that during siege battles, "the attacker hits only on a result of 6 or higher" (regardless of what round of the battle it is)

This setup seems ok for dedicated tournament players but I doubt new players will enjoy having to pick from three different starter sets before they even know the rules. Plus, we still don't know if Rebel/Imperial players will have to get one of these new starter sets just for some obscure component change. I'd rather they have a miniature-less starter set or, preferably, one with cardboard only ships that new players could use before buying the plastic ones.
