After 3 weeks of not being able to do #TheExchange by Greenbook together (big shout out to Natalie Pusch for stepping in for us!), Karen Lynch and I came back with a vengeance today! We started with a heartfelt tribute to Hugh Davis & Keith Price for the massive impact they have had on us and the whole industry since the beginning of the #onlineresearch era; congrats on the launch of ACKWEST Group; we can't wait to see what they do next! We also gave a hearty congrats to Dana Kim of Highlight for making the #2 on the Fast Company list of most innovative #DataScience companies. We love it when #IIeXComptition winners keep kicking butt! Part 3 of the #PaidForYourSay series debuted; thanks to Kerry Hecht and 10K Humans, Isaac Rogers from Sago, Catherine “Mickey” Hill from Advanced Insights, Bj Kirschner from Just Worldwide , Melisa Gipson, PRC, from Jackson Associates Research, and Desirae Cox for diving into things we can start doing now to fix the #dataquality issues in the industry. On the new product front we reviewed new launches by Quantex AI and Media.Monks. We also recommended several new reports: HTF Market Intelligence Consulting Pvt Ltd released a deep dive into the global #Neurmarketing market, Microsoft delved into 3 big #AI #Trends to watch, and Forerunner detailed key 2024 #ConsumerTrends. Karen Lynch and I had to pre-record #TheExchange by Greenbook this week since she is on her way to #iiexapac, but we still managed to cover all the news that caught our attention this week, with only a little #soapboxing from me! We started off discussing the news from Stagwell (with a shout out to Mark Penn and his legacy at PSB Insights and Microsoft) on the relaunch of the Unlock Surveys panel in the #AI era, the new #Virtualaudiences tool from Yabble™, and the new #branding & #packaging tool by iVisual, as well as the acquisition of Mistral AI by Microsoft AI. What do they all have in common? The importance of #dataquality to power #decisionmaking. Next came my soapbox time as we covered all the angles of the fallout for Google during their launch of Google Gemini and how it highlighted the bottom line requirement of AI: it has to be FACTUAL & CORRECT. Is there a role for #marketresearch in supporting that mission? I bet you can guess my answer! We also covered related news from TechCrunch on some disappointing AI accuracy tests, Tyler Perry Studios changing course due to new advances by OpenAI, and finally we tied it all together with a call to action for everyone to get engaged now so we can help shape the future and new products that meet our expectations. Rather than giving out our usual bounty of shout outs, we plugged our own #IIeXNA event right around the corner (it's gonna be AWESOME) as well as the #GreenbookPodcast for deeper dive discussions on important topics with cool people. In today's #TheExchange Karen Lynch and I tackled the topic of work/life balance, discussed #samplequality by highlighting the expose' by Catherine “Mickey” Hill and Desirae Cox on #PaidForYourSay, as well as new articles by CRG Predictive Intelligence and the Kantar and Realeyes - Attention Measurement partnership, with a wide ranging discussion on the importance of this topic. As an added bonus we touched on an interview I gave to Virtual Incentives on the role incentives play in building #respondentengagement and #panelquality (thanks Jennifer Mancusi and the team at Growgetter for making me sound good!). On a related note, we showcased a new framework for measuring #customerexperience by Savanta (aren't respondents customer?). Next we moved into the #tech portion of our show we covered how brands are already planning to use the Apple #VisionPro for #ecommerce, as well as how the launch is a real-time public beta of this tech and how valuable that is for #productdesign. One of the learnings seems to be it may not be quite ready for primetime since many buyers are returning it due to physiological effects. How soon before consumer tech needs to go through #clinicaltrials? The lines are blurring for sure. Finally we moved to #AI, and covered the $1 Trillion fundraise by OpenAI, the utterly amazing (and scary as hell!) #Sora reveal and it's broad implications for well...everything! To put a point on the discussion we dived into a report by Gartner on the top use cases for #GenerativeAI (it's a must read!) and a great article titled "AI and Consumer Insights: A Revolution in Product Innovation" by BNN Breaking. Plus, Karen Lynch tells a story about being #rickrolled by #AI (kinda)! How did we tie it all together? That would be telling; listen in! I only got on my soapbox a few times, I swear.
