When the video refers to "Portland, California" in the first sentence of the AI narration, you know it's going to be crap. With the exception of a very few b&w photos of the actual ship, NONE of the images here have anything to do with the ships mentioned or even the historical events referred to. AI garbage. Don't waste your time.👎

Doesn't even show the Nautilus. In fact, it even shows Russian subs. It's kind of insulting to the pioneer of nuclear powered submarines.

And because Bong fought in the Pacific, his aircraft was never adorned with what are called 'invasions stripes'.

Actually, the War of 1812 had not "officially ended" at the time of the Battle of New Orleans. A peace treaty had been signed, but Congress had not yet ratified it. Technically, we were still at war. If the British had won that battle, they could have continued northward and possibly could have won the war. In that event, Americans today would all be speaking English.

@egosumhomovespertilionemАй бұрын
Andrew Jackson was arguably the only psychopath ever elected president. His treatment of the peaceful and assimilationist Cherokee people of Georgia and North Carolina was one of the most disgraceful tragedies in the history of the United States, and destroyed what could have been a model for the peaceful integration of American Indians into the mainstream of American culture. And Jackson did so in defiance of a judgment of the U.S. Supreme Court. Apart from his military victories, there is little to like about this man and his impact on America.
@robbercopgamerАй бұрын
Well, on the Cherokee issue he seems, like many (and I mean many) other Americans who generalized Native American leaders and tried to find SOMEONE in their tribe to speak for all them when the natives never had one and never would have one. With the natives failing to follow the orders and agreements of a single person, Jackson began to use government and by default, military force to enforce treaties that were signed by those leaders. Calling him a psychopath is unjustified but you could say he was an asshole.
