However, Jersey and Guernsey each had their own Governments and parliaments, and still do. The Government in London was not (and has never been) the Islanders' government. At 6:38 you refer to English citizens where you mean British citizens. The Islands are not English, but they are British. English people are also British, as are Scottish and Welsh people.
