Al Golden that’s how all the SF talent that was in our backyard got away he really said no to Amari Cooper and others the sad part is that Cooper and the rest of the recruits we missed out on in the Al Golden era grew up wanting to be Canes and in the end they were convinced to go to other schools

We have to keep our guys from the crib home . That’s why we haven’t been the top 10 in recruiting for a while. Mario know that he need to recruit our Florida guys home especially the crib . Once we start winning they will stay home . Last year we had a top 5 class and we will be in the top 5 this year also

Administration fleeced the program for all the years ending in 2022, while at the same time losing the arms race that started around 2004 or so with the new TV money.

As a former City of Miami resident, player and fan of the U, I commend you on the show Michael and Edgerrin James was an epic first show; kudos! To be honest I know Edge knows this, but if he doesn’t the UM Administration failed the community back then by not having the foresight to see what was right across the palm tree lined Coral Gables drives, a rich and thriving bitter pill across town was littered with magnificent athletic talent. To their defense, when trying to be Ivy League it’s difficult to do that and transition those young men to a UM lifestyle and multiply what Coach Howard Schnellenberger did, by opening his arms to those born, bred and made in the county of Dade. They may not have forgot or even cared, but Coach Mario knows because Columbus was also a stones throw from all of that City Magic: Allapattah, Liberty City, Overtime, Carol City, Etc. Those that knew know and those that think it’s an excuse aren’t fans of history and patterns, but many of my friends decided to send their athletes and scholars to a place they felt wanted including many of their alumni… FSU & UF were benefactors of our shortcomings, yes i always root for the home team, but many of my friends, not so much, because they are less forgiving than I! #GoCanes 😊😊😊

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. James at North Glade Park back in 2007 , when he appeared there to speak to the youth . I listened closely to him and he seemed genuinely concerned about the youth . Having said that , it's good to see that former canes still enjoy being a part of the program .

Edge is right. Kids now while just as physically blessed dont have that chip: the desire. The determination. The pride. That will make the difference between say a 6 rounder , or an edge. A Clinton Portis. A Willis mcgahee... a Duke johnson
