all singers lip sync. There's no escaping that. If they have hard notes in their songs, chances are they will sing it live a few times, each time sounding more strained than the last, then begin to lip. Its not like she is lipping the entire song, she rarely does that. Most of her songs are partly lipped. Yeah she can adlib but then people say she cant do it live (usually those who are stupid enough to believe that some of her climaxes are live) and then those who pay that money will call her shows boring. So she loses either way. What she does live is still great, like a good chunk of this preformance, so just enjoy that.

SOUNDING exactly the same (without even the slightest phase problem) is humanly impossible, so yes, is lipping. Mariah sang the majority of this song live, including some very difficult parts with plain success, but there are times when she lips.

Please, don't be rude. If you don't understand the difference between singing exactly the same lines and sounding exactly the same proves that you don't know anything regarding vocal production or sound theory. It is phisically impossible to match timbre, time, pitch and even phase between two different takes because the sound is produced slightly different and the recording is associanting different parts of the sound wave to different bits. So before insulting the work of someone, I highly recommend that you search and study the subject. It won't make you feel this ignorant.

The goal of this video is to show that she still is capable of doing such a perfect presentation live, in spite of her bad one singing Always Be My Baby. 75% of this song is live, and some of them are very difficult parts and she does perfectly. The why behind this era of lip-synching is completely unknown, 'cause she seems completely able to sing 100% live. She still is the best.

I see this video in a completely different way. There are so many perfect live moments shown here, even very difficult ones (like the end), that it, for me, only brings the question: why does she have to lip? Her talent is getting better and better, though her voice is sadly getting worse. But even like that, you can say she is an amazing live singer, that only suffers of exacerbated perfectionism hahaha.

Actually, everything until 2:05 is completely live, what is absolutely A+mazing! After that, she turn on and off the back track a lot of times, but you can hear that the moments live are still perfect. For me, there were no reasons to lip that performance.

She necessarily didn’t lipped all the way cause the studio version is too loud where you can barely hear her and plus she went flat and sharp on the upper belt and she went a little lower on some of the notes so maybe it lipped maybe it’s dubbed maybe it’s pre recorded we don’t know that just because it sound the same doesn’t mean anything u don’t know definitely the person who made it doesn’t know cause the dam album version is up to dam loud so nobody knows but Mariah Carey ask her instead accusing her

Claro! Ela cantou muito bem por sinal! Me pergunto o motivo de ter usado o playback, parecia completamente possível cantar 100% live. Tanto que o finalzinho mesmo, com o whistle, foi live e foi perfeito.
