It’s been 10 plus years since I was last in Thailand, I’m shortly going back with my now wife - to Ao Nang, Phi and Phi, and Koh Lanta. Is Apple Pay widely taken, or is cash still king on the whole? Thank!
@K8andGustav22 күн бұрын
It's probably changed since you were there, but still a wonderful country to visit😃 if you don't have a Thai bank account then I would say cash is king except for more western restaurants and grocers where you'll be able to pay with a card.

as biker , i don't agree with you cause riding a motorcycle is very dangerous ! and specially while you were in Thailand or Asia area ! Without jacket and body protections ( elbow , spin dorsal etc ) a small accident would be big causualities ! But ok ! have fun and enjoy your roadtrip with security !
@K8andGustav23 күн бұрын
Hi there, after this trip we bought safety gear and made sure to use it when on motorcycle trips. Thanks for the advice😃

for those who dont know if they smelled sulphur before think rotten egg or battery acid or striking a match thanks for the video , planning on doing a long solo drive from hua hin to chiang rai and the golden triangle then drive back along the borders of laos and cambodja chiang mai is likely one of the stops going a little smaller size / cheaper on the motorbike , thinking on a 150 160cc scooter , a touring style bike with gears is nicer in the mountains though as you can shift down let go of the trottle and brake on the engine on the downslopes and spare the brakes as theres a verry good chance at brake fade (brake fluid boiling from the heat generated causes airbubbles in the lines and spongy / no brakes and making the brakepads so hard there hardly gripping no more ) if you need to hold the brake all the way down automatics start to freewheel if you let go of the trottle

Thanks for the info, that actually has happened to us when going on steep downhills in the mountains. Your trip sounds like an amazing adventure, enjoy every second of it and safe travels😊

Is the top speed of your bike 60 km ?? 🤔 i thought that they were 125/150 cc ?.
@K8andGustav29 күн бұрын
We rented 150cc bikes, so top speed is more than 60km/h
Yes that is why we always look for the speed signs to show what speed to go

Yeah, the Towel as a Bedspread is common, because 1 some people like to lay Naked on the Bed and Cool off after a Shower, and it can also double as a Beach Towel if you are going down to the Beach. I even have one here in Saipan Island. 😁 I like the way you did this Video Cruising to all the Beaches. That was cool.

Interesting, we were really wondering why they do it like that😄 makes total sense. Thank you so much for watching, and enjoy island Life😊

Thank you so much! I'm going to Koh Lanta (and other islands) during January and I'll be staying by Khlong Dong beach as well. Was it just the traditional thai massage you had?
@K8andGustavАй бұрын
Awesome😄 enjoy the trip! January is a nice time to visit Thailand because the weather is more mild. It was a traditional massage yes👍🏽

can't fly drones in the parks - it's against the law these days. consider that next time, incase the rangers catch you - you'll get a fine or confiscation.

One of our dogs was killed by a puffadder, she ran past or over it. They have become a plague now that most of their natural predators have been wiped out. In our area, there's a type of cobra that bites just to taste you, even if you are sleeping and not moving, they come into your house, there was a case recently, the victim unfortunately passed away. So you have to keep your eyes out for snakes and criminals! Luckily you are living in one of the safer parts of SA.
@K8andGustavАй бұрын
I am so sorry to hear, we also lost a dog to a snake bite🥲 what type of cobra is that? We try to be vigilant of snakes and criminals😅

@K8andGustavАй бұрын
Hi there 👋😊 I've done the Ha Giang loop twice and would say the mountains there are the most beautiful I've ever seen in my life. The Nan loop is definitely better is you want to drive a fast, big bike and smooth roads😃

From Dec to Feb, there are plenty of yellow trumpets in full bloom along roads in Thailand. There are several yellow flower trees in Thailand but yellow trumpets are the most popular plants here.

Wow, you got me a little choked up. You're such a great storyteller. Maybe it's your soothing voice. Maybe it's the content and historical contexts. Whatever it is -- keep doing what you're doing. Makes me wonder what it must have been like to live during the height of the Khmer Empire. And cheers to Cambodia's prosperous future. I can't wait to visit soon!
