My 2013 A1398 is having problem with a 3-beep error, got a second hand board and put everything back together only to find out trackpad not working, neither when I hooked up a USB mouse, there was no startup chime either, but I do get warning sound when press the keyboard too long, what could be wrong? what do I need to look for to correct the problems? thanks!

My MacBook's fans were choked and it was running hot so I cleaned them out with a fine paint brush and replaced the thermal paste. All back to normal now, thanks for the video.

Excellent! but appears to be one misstatement. After removing most parts, you stated the 4 last screws holding the motherboard were the same size. Unless somebody made a mistake on mine - those 4 screws were different size

Excellent tutorial easy to follow, thanks! I was able to change charging port. I am grateful/blessed to live in an area of smart people with great skills sharing their expertise/knowledge. I broke my right speaker connector, I can do without that though and use headphones instead. Thanks again.

I have watched almost all the A1398 disassembly videos and this is hands down the most comprehensive one. And the only one to clean the insides of the fan. I just can't stand it when people reinstall a filthy fan. Hope you make more videos like this!

Thank you sir for doing this service to the community. I used this guide to clean coffee spill in my dads old macbook pro late 2013. Following your instructions tutorial here I was able to successfully revive the computer. Now I have this 15 inch 8gb 1tb SSD macbook pro and also an old mid 2012 13 inch unibody with 16gb ram and 500 gb ssd. Both are great old computers and I dont know which one I should keep!

Thank you for you very clearly explained video! I used it to install a new logic board on my 2013 Macbook pro A1398. I agree with you that it's one of the best computers Apple has made.

My logic board bit the dust recently- memory ram module 2 is toast and Apple considers this laptop "vintage" and can't fix it any longer. Do you mind sharing where you got your new logic board (A1398) from? Thanks.

Guys, be careful when putting back i/o data cable back (the black Z-shaped cable on top of the right fan). I accidentally placed mine wrong side, which caused short circuit and sparks. Mac works fine but the right side ports (usb, hdmi and card reader) are not working. Now I'm wondering if it will affect the rest of the system

Hi, My A1398 went off suddenly 2 years ago. It doesn't start afterward. Service guys say it's beyond repair. Is it worth heating up the logic board as in - www.instructables.com/How-to-repair-the-Macbook-pro-logic-board-at-home/
@techworkshop72423 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, In this situation go for it when there's nothing to lose. I've had some success with multiple macbooks including a1398. Don't forget to strip the motherboard of all the plastic things - including the CPU plastic cover and the waterproof cover at the top of the board. Clear the glue thorougly before the bake. When it's cooked well done leave it to cool down and then connect the power board and one fan. After you plug the magsafe it should turn on and spin the fan. If it doesn't try to cook for little longer and then repeat. Wish you great luck :). The plan B is to sell the screen assembly separately (they still go for insane prices) and then the rest of the parts (ssd, top cover etc.)

Thanks man ! Is it worth to take out the keyboard to clean as well?
@techworkshop72423 жыл бұрын
I don't think so. It's a huge paint to remove the whole keyboard and you can't really clean it much better afterwards. If you have some dirt underneath the keys you can blow them out with a compressed air or a compressor. Just flip the laptop facing keyboard down and blow the dirt out one key at a time. Cheers.
