I just got "KZbin reprimanded" for calling Bill Burr the walking "vaginal sissy" he is.. he was portrayed that way in his own damn show. But hey "cyber bullying" because vaginas clenched hearing words

People today are so ignorant and do not understand all of the nooks and crannies that are at play when it comes to communication and how much a person is (or isn't) affected by words themselves. A word alone, like an insult for example, and its meaning cannot truly hurt you, moreso if you don't know their meaning (let that sink for a bit), and even if you knew its meaning, is it (the insult) true?? Unlikely. But there's more. There's the context. A word like p*ssy can, for example, refer to a kitty, or female genitalia, or a person that's a coward. Different meanings that depend heavily on context. Same with the n-word. People greeting each other and saying "Yo! What's my n-" is hella different compared "Go back to Africa, you n- piece of s-". CONTEXT changes meaning. There's more as well, such as the non-verbal aspects of communication, such as paralinguistic and kinesthetic forms of communication. The volume of your voice, if you're shouting or speaking softly, things like range, timbre, pitch, rhythm, even MELODY, all of these things are paralinguistic forms of communication that are heavily at play when communicating. Same goes for kinesthetic communication, the communication of movement. The way you walk, the position of your back and/or chest, the movement of arms, legs, hands and neck, your facial expression, etc. They're heavily at play when communicating. There's more. There's also the previous experience of a person which can change the meaning of a word for THAT person. A person hearing the N-word in a context where people greet each other and use it as a synonym for "bro" is less likely to be affected when they hear it. However, it's the opposite with a person who has heard it in a *personal* context of physical or psychological abuse. To that person, he will, of course, associate it to the violence he's endured from past experiences. It's a trauma sort of thing where a word becomes a trigger for negative personal experiences we lived where that word was prominent. I hope I made myself understood. I studied ESL back then and linguistics is a fascinating topic to me.

I pretty much agree with this but there's also history behind a lot of these words and context matters, i also just don't want to unintentionally make someone feel worse by using a word. Jokes are jokes but if you think this is an excuse to call someone a racial slur you're a bad person.

Can’t believe they didn’t put the n word in there He even calls himself a honky which is a racial slur. But it doesn’t bother him How about derogatory language only bothers you if you let it. If another race calls a black person a niggr and black guy hits the white guy. Guess who is going to jail. Like I said words should not bother you unless you let them. By resorting to violence you are giving power and control to that person

Think of it this way: If words can change their meaning over time, then their meaning can't be inherent. And if words can't be inherent, then they can't be inherently good or bad.

As much as I disagree with what he’s saying, I have to ask, how the fuck does he know all of the words?

The obvious answer is he studied those words for the bit and then rehearsed them. Carlin wasn't just saying them off the cuff, these were well honed jokes/commentary.

If only people took this comedy skit seriously as well as the humor, because he is 100% right. Anybody saying some word literally means nothing, it's what meaning they add to it with their actions. Somebody can say a slur, that slur alone at most identifies somebody, and at worst in a way that is "not nice"... But who gives a shit if it is nice or not if you arent some weak, cowardly wimp who can't handle such?

Disagreed! they're not words because some people get offended by them espically for thoes who have sensory issues like Autism, they're little kids, or they don't like thoes words and some people will not like it in a good sentence like "nice [CENSORED] day we're having" and there's also people who don’t like swearing at all because they're afraid they'll offend someone. Some people don't like swearing (like me) because it strong emotional reaction to swearing because it taps directly into some of our earliest experiences. When we are small children learning a language, we are often punished for using swear words. This pairing of swearing with bad consequences can leave a strong mark because they're offensive to be used in any conversation. On the internet however with KZbin some users don't want to have swear words in their videos because they want their videos family friendly even if the video is made by adults or teenagers or kids. They can't be used on live TV and radio because obscenity is not protected by the First Amendment, it is prohibited on cable, satellite and broadcast TV and radio. This means that if you swear the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) will fine you in a grand number (like $10K). This is the reason why censorship of profanity exists. Another thing too is that if you practice a religion like if you go to church every Sunday should know that swearing or using blasphemous words is a sin according to Ephesians 4:29 and they don't want anyone to swear at them.
