Oh man! I had that same car in the late 90's! I paid $300 for it. It was barely running and the top was shot. The previous owner had replaced the head gasket and got the timing belt off by 2 teeth, plus it was stretched and worn. I had the belt replaced and it ran awesome after that, plenty of power. had the top replaced and drove it from Las Vegas to Spokane with zero problems. Mine had the analog gauges. I'd love to have another one. I would definitely have a shop weld in some much needed sub frame connectors.

Back in the day when you could get a running and driving car basically for under a grand. I always think of Planes Trains and Automobiles when I see one of these old relics.

Thanks for this! I grew up drinking coffee from percolator, but had never seen this before. I bought one just like this (minus the handle on the top pot) and wasn't sure how to use it.

I had the same car silver black top. Sold 8 yrs ago. Did a drivetrain swap from an 89 Shelby Daytona. Turbo 2, 555. Typical mods about 220 hop. Nothing too crazy Ran a 13.04. Fun car. Had the crab wheels and painted black. Convertible top replacement isn't cheap though. Easy swap. The only thing I didn't realize is that the hood wouldn't shut with the turbo 2 intake because of the drain pan for the hood louvers. How to make a block off plate.

That's really cool! We sold the car a few weeks back ad the new owner brought it back for us to fix the top. We are in the process of fixing that now, so far it hasn't been too bad thankfully.

Yes it would be! We thought about it but we didn't think it would do well on the other one since it was more of just driving video.

You put the beaters in the wrong holes. The curved one goes the other side against the bowl. And the correct bowl would make all the difference.

I have used one of those for years. I boil my water in a separate kettle. Too much faffing to try to do it with the carafe. I prefer the way the coffee tastes without the filter paper. That 'press' allows the water to trickle through the grounds gradually. Using that big old thing doesn't seem take me much longer than an electric coffee maker.

Awkward and dangerous to lift a full pan of bowling water all that way up to pour into the coffee maker. Come over to the Canadian side, Americans, and use an electric kettle! 😊

You have a model 12 motor on a model 10 or 11 base.

You're wrong sir, That's a model 12 with a model 12 base. The only issue here is the lady has the beaters reversed.

The base of a model 12 does not have a round front. The pink pedestal that supports the motor is that of a model 12. The black base is from another Mixmaster (model 10 or 11). If this were the original base, it would be pink too. The clear mixing bowl is not a Mixmaster bowl, the bowl belongs to a Hamilton Beach mixer @@DrOlds100

@@russ5024 I checked and you are correct Russ, The flat base that rests on the counter is from a different model. But if you look at photos on Google you will see many white and chrome model 12's with a black base so I guess the pastel colored mixers were the only ones with matching color bases. Thanks!

You have the beaters on wrong, the more rounded one with the nub on the bottom goes to the outside and the square one goes inside. That is how the bowl is moved. They are great mixers for cake batter!

Just bought one of these but I too have an electric stove. So I leave it on the burner on 2 most of the morning. It keeps the coffee warm without burning the coffee. Love your video and glad to see how you used the pot. I will try it with the filter instead of grinding on the coarse setting all the time.

I remember we had an iron like the Black & Decker when I was a kid. I was born in 1964, but we still had one of those, and my mom had another that she heated up on the stove too.

Watching you both on the Hot Rod Power Tour, I didn't know you had another channel. I subscribed, I like these old cadgets. The weirdest thing I've found in a thrift type store was an AEBLESKIVER PAN. It makes these wonderful doughnut hole like treats that are often filled with cherry or apple filling and powdered sugar on the outside. It will also make savory treats, it was still in the box and even had a recipe book! The pastries are too addicting for me to keep the pan as I am diabetic, so I gave it as a Secret Santa gift. I really wish I hadn't, because it got traded several times, and I don't know who went home with it. Maybe I will buy another one. I hope your channel does well. I will stick around to see what you come up with on your treasure hunts.

@@resurrectedrandomness My sister thought I was silly when I said I wanted to "save" it (from being destroyed) but I explained that there were plenty of classic cars that ended up being smashed due to disinterest at the time. My husband "saved" many of classic cars and restored them to their almost original state. He actually saw my coffee pot wasn’t shiny but rather dull and he immediately went to garage, got some rubbing compound and started to bring it back to a shiny sheen!
