I love your tips and the set-up suggestions! Thanks! Super helpful! I told myself that I was not going to fail at this because of “analyze/paralyze” or the constant overthinking of how to begin this… I like that you emphasized that there is no wrong or right way. I love the covers BTW. On a separate note - can you pack my carry-on for Japan? 😁

5:20 I laughed so hard when you ended that beautiful quote with "that quote is quite anxiety inducing". 😂❤ I plan to use this notebook as a mini gratitude journal because the little "today" on each page reminds me to be grateful of the present moment. I'm not a big gratitude journaller (sorry I'm inventing words here) but I do find that if I'm having a tough time it can help to write down a few sentences to remind myself of all the things I love in life.

I found this video in the Messy Hobonichi FB group and I’m so glad I clicked through. It is so refreshing to see someone talk about their planner challenges and issues so honestly. Your sense of humor is so relatable. Hang in there.

It's okay to use Hobonichi and make a mess of it. - Ha! Perfect! :) ...and we'll go back to our regular chaos. Words to live by! Thank you, Yes but also no.

Thank you for this educational and fun video! ❤ Although I came here for the Hobonichi content, I'm really interested in how you use the Jibun Techo. I've been thinking of using the Jibun Techo Lite and was so pleased to see it here.

What a great video and thank you for keeping it real and fun - I also have “regular chaos” so I am glad we are in that together and not alone. I definitely am the sort to experiment how many notebooks would fit in a cover - the standard covers are designed for the thickness of 1 book or two Avecs, I imagine you could fit 3 notebooks into the 5-year covers as they are designed for bigger/fatter books. I was very impressed with your Weeks in the Small Draw Pouch - I’m gonna have to try that myself now as I thought I would have to get an Áne Pouch but with a pen and some stickers on the inside and more pens outside - you are fabulous!! 🎉 If you don’t like the “dirty” you can put the pouch in a mesh laundry bag and wash the pouch on a delicates/wool cycle with your silks and woollens but if you are not bothered by the wear and use - loved-marks then you don’t need to worry about washing it. 🫶🏽 Varsha.

Have you tried buying an inexpensive large zippered travel wallet? I've been checking the dimensions and they'd definitely fit a weeks, maybe even an a5, at a fraction of the price. Not as pretty ofc but for practical purposes it could work and design-wise they're almost identical to the zipper pouches.

Also, how much you can fit in any size drawer pouch depends a lot on the material it was made from. I have some of the bow and tie material ones, and they have zero stretch, no matter how long I’ve owned and used them. I can get way more into the regular cloth ones, and the nylon ones are in between.

The Sneaker does fit inside the small drawer pouch, but then you can’t fit much else.

Im impressed with how much stuff you were able to fit in that drawer pouch! I have one, but Im very precious about it, so Im not gonna push the limits that much, but if I ever get a simpler design, the world seems to be my oyster 😂

Honestly, the best thing I've ever done for myself was cutting planner hopping in the bud. Like yeah, I buy a journal, a work planner and a personal one each year, but I refuse to switch my catch-all EDC during the year. I can try different layouts in the back pages, I can make plans for next year's planners, I can change the cover, but I am bot allowed to hop out of it. And guess what, that just makes it work, because I have no other option. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'm trying sg new in 2025 because life is constantly changing anyway, and I got a backup Weeks in case the new system is a giant fail. But even then, I can use one or the other as a journal or for work, and I still haven't bought more than the 3 I am allowed. And then there's next year to try sg else. Unless we die. 😂

I like how you’re setting boundaries for that. Sometimes you need to force yourself to stick with something to learn how to make it work for you... unless you’re really unlucky and it’s just completely wrong for you lol. I also like how you have a backup Weeks, that's pretty smart! If nothing works, you at least have somewhere to run.

Lovely haul. Wishing you lots of fun with your baby old and covers for 2025. I also bought the Yumi Kitagishi Travel cover and the Keiko Shibata cat A6 notebook to use together. Thank you for putting the Avec and notebook in one cover, I was wondering lambing to do the same. Tip for the free pen in the butterfly closure (if you want to) I slide the pen UP from the bottom, pop the clip out and then back down, it feels backwards but is easier than sliding the pen down from the top with the too wide rubber grip. Best wishes Varsha.

I’ve been thinking of getting the floating cats as well! I’ve watched several videos now and no one ordered it, so thank you for sharing your great haul Also the mountains, I definitely am having an internal struggle because I’d like to get it in A6. I’d also really like to get the Bear with the dandelions cover in the Cousin size, even though I don’t use a Cousin. Ahh, help! 😅

The struggle to choose between so many good options is so real! If you find another use for the A5, even if it’s not as a planner, then maybe you could still get that cover...

I solved the flipping issue between more than 2 sections in my weeks and HON by using a simple Oli clip to clip say the weekly section and the blank pages together or the monthly’s and weeklies together.
