No, you can do it with any guitar! If you listen to a lot of gypsy jazz recordings you would be surprise how many aren't on gypsy guitars!

@@Pete_B_773 it is really a different sound! The way people play now makes the music a little more open to Bebop and jazz phrasing. Different sounds, and different beast. I find myself in the middle on what I prefer. I like both!!
