Lets see you ride that horse without tying his mouth closed........why don't you train your horse instead of trying to contain it! asshole

I am demo-ing this saddle from my Fitter and I LOVE it. I have a Fairfax Classic, which I feel OK about (my horses love it, which is why I chose it, and I am neither hot nor cold, just feel neutral about it) and a Fairfax Classic Monoflap Jump, which I really really like. Anyway, I have been shopping for a Dressage with a slightly narrower twist and deeper seat, without sacrificing the nice close contact feel, and THIS IS IT. It is expensive, but I feel so lucky to have found THE ONE. Fairfax convert, here!

Interesting, thank you! My horse has an uphill confirmation and I noticed that the description told its ideal for this type ( I have a Holsteiner) I am truly just a novice rider and currently use my only saddle actually an Albion K2 jump as I found it very comfortable to sit on as I suffer nerve damage around the pelvis all down my legs. I was recommended trying the Rebecca by FF for my first dressage saddle. Sorry, my question to you is would this be too much of an investment for a first dressage saddle, in your opinion? I will respect any comments or information you have. Thank you 😊

Don't be fooled. This is the saddle they made for Charlotte. The only reason it doesn't bear her name is because she's officially sponsored by Equipe Saddles, which ensure magnificent balance by the rider and a perfect position, but which don't have the technical brilliance of the Fairfax Performance Panel. She switched to a Fairfax Saddle earlier this year, but because it threw her position off (especially after having ridden in Equipe during all her Valegro years), she performed less well, and MSJ Freestyle got croup high, hollow and worse overall, especially in the piaffe. She probably requested a change to a better seat (a saddle really makes or breaks how you sit), and this is their saddle for her. She's been riding in it since Lyon 2019, and the difference is quite something. She rides all her horses in Fairfax Saddles and girths now, just not bridles. I find it a match made in heaven. The very best of British Saddlemaking and Dressage doing the best work in the world. It would totally make sense for her to be sponsored by Fairfax. I also like this more glamorous, more official and more pompous, royal, if you will, edge with the metal detail on the flap. Suits her.

It was announced today that they are her new saddle sponsor. Your comment also is really confusing whether you like Equipe or Fairfax more.

@@rmfan2092 I know, it was announced last week! I guess her contract with Equipe now ended, which is why she can officially ride in Fairfax now. Also, let's just say that Equipe makes better balanced saddles: the issues with the piaffe and passage Charlotte has right now are saddle related, and would not happen in an Equipe. However, even though the design of the Fairfax Saddles' seat is poorer and could be improved a lot, they tried to do so already with this one after Charlotte probably requested it after the desaster the first one she used made, and the pressure mapping is amazing. So this saddle is better for extended trots for example, as the horse moves more freely. Basically: Equipe is better riding, better quality of dressage. Fairfax is bigger movement, more comfortable horse, but mistakes in the difficult elements.

@@rmfan2092 Just watch her ride her piaffe in her first Grand Prix's with MSJ Freestyle. Much better than even the last one she did now. All because she rides in an Equipe and not in a Fairfax.

The thing is, Equipe saddles ensure your position. They MAKE you sit right, much like Amerigo Saddles, of which they are the mother brand, or Devoucoux and Jaguar, which have a similar cut, but less perfected. Fairfax, you kind of have to beat yourself against the saddle, which is never a good thing. Many people find it hard to aquire a classical seat, and complain how difficult good riding is. The thing is, often they sit in a bad saddle, and constantly have to sit against it when it should be natural! It's very easy to spot a good saddle though: look how balanced it is in itself. If it looks like the deepest point is behind the leg, it will throw you backwards, and the horse on the forehand. Voltaire for example makes the most terrible Dressage saddles. You sit in them like in a chair!

Hello Andrew, I watch your youtube clips and I am a big fan. I am at Heathcote, Central Victoria, Australia. I was surprised that this clip did not receive a comment. So, I'm happy to be the first. I agree with you & my WBxTB dressage mare loves to work in a big paddock too. I frequently work her on a slope. Daily, we also attempt your 1 pole exercise and it had changed my position and increased suppleness in the mare. Love it.Thanks, Pablo.
