By that logic, wouldn’t it mean that unless every person personally experiences something, it’s not believable? How do we know Napoleon existed? Neither of us were there, but we trust the records and experiences passed down to us. Faith isn’t just a ‘gap filler’; it’s something we use to make sense of reality, from history to personal beliefs. We rely on faith in all sorts of ways, not just with God.

Singleness is most definitely a gift but without the mentioning of Christ directing our steps in this clip specifically it can be very misleading.

Hey man , I support you finding someone who could treat you with the decency of mutual trust, or at the very least getting away from someone who clearly doesnt trust you

My parents are the same way tbh, but they have stuck it out for their 4 children, me and my 3 brothers. I always thought my dad cheated on her 1st, but it was my mom who did it even before they were married. I had an evil view of my Father, but i made sure to let them know, i will never choose a side! I love both of you equally because you both have done things to better my life. I only ask that you make sure your kids have no evil image of your wife, and for yourself. If you wife does give them an evil image of you, always let them know that you love them, but do not villainize her. Glory to God Brother, do what is best for you and your kids!

Those trust issues she has are from her own actions: either she's in denial that you could restrain yourself and not cheat on her, or she's still stepping out on you and that's her anxious reaction to perceived threats. Since you've decided to stay up to this point, I would recommend you stay the course and get some intense marriage counseling. Preferably from a pastor you're able to trust and confide in. At some point you have to look at this situation and ask yourself why you are hanging in there after twice being cheated on. I don’t mean to disparage you I have been in exactly your situation but after the first time I said no more because at that point it wasn’t about her it was bout me and I knew if it happened again I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself. I’m terribly sorry you have been through this but if your wife was willing to make it right she would have done so after the first time. YOU DO NOT deserve to be treated this way.

There are many more nuanced views out there. The Church of Christ (there are multiple denoms that kind of use that name, so I may be thinking of the wrong one) is a denomination that leans extremely heavily on the literal words of the King James Version of the Bible, not a lot of theologizing to be found there. I have a friend in the denomination that told me Philosophy is evil. The CoC also rejects evolution and sometimes contests that humans lived alongside dinosaurs lol. There are several denoms that call their buildings “X church of christ” so it could be another one though.

@@ClarenceChurchofChrist off of historical facts. Apostle Paul, when known as Saul persecuted, raped, and murdered Christian’s. He then claims to have “met Jesus in a vision” and was given new doctrine which explains you must confess Jesus as lord to be saved. How convenient for the guy who has no inner purification might I add. And keep in mind the very Christians he slaughtered for years did not believe you had to confess Jesus as lord, it was not apart of their doctrine. So were they not saved simply because they did not know that confessing Jesus as savior was a requirement? Or did that become a requirement only after Paul added it to canon. And if so then it’s not nearly as black and white as we think. In fact it’s quite grey and muddy. And if it’s grey and muddy, just how much grey-ness and muddiness is there? How much doctrine do you have to believe is true to be saved? These are important questions to ask, and we should all be asking them

As our belief is overall based on Jesus (whom Paul points toward and away from in his writing), we won’t be deviating from that, but thanks for sharing your perspective.
