man this song gets better the more you listen to it, it's a real sensation

I like how trebley these old CD recordings sound. Killer Instinct's "Killer Cuts" CD soundtrack has the same EQ signature (see track "The Instinct" in particular) lots of high frequency treble sizzle. That was the new sound in the 90's cause vinyl and cassette were lacking in high frequencies so it was hi tech to be hearing all this clear high resolution treble. Supposedly the treble boost is unintentional due to the recording equipment being already pre adjusted to artificially boost treble to counteract the lack of high frequencies on cassette and vinyl. So when CD came along and was actually able to reproduce all the high frequencies up to 44khz it sounds extra trebley. Or something like that.

They had one of these arcade machines at the ice skating rink I went to as a little kid in the early 90s. I sucked at ice skating compared to my sister so I didn't go THAT often, but afterwards I would always play this racing game. I randomly remembered it just the other day and so I looked at a compilation of old-school arcade racing games to figure out exactly which one it was, and I recognized it immediately from the engine sounds, the ferris wheel in Big Forest, the construction signs in Bay Bridge (Sister: "The trick is not to run into the signs!"), and the Acropolis track (I remember it had a hairpin turn & my Dad told me that it was the name of a famous Greek ruin).

I'm probably the one person who thinks this ost is better than the arranged (except wolf's theme)

Sounds like it could be the Operators Menu BGM, during normal play you'd not hear it because it might be behind just the operator sound test or the operator menu.
